Orphaned non-free media (File:FLO logo.png)

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:FLO logo.png. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 05:30, 11 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

This was caused by an edit to the Teterboro Airport article (see Revision as of 06:17, 1 May 2009) which changed "TEB logo.png" to "TEB logo .png", breaking the link to the image. The article has been fixed and the orphan tag was removed from the file. -- Zyxw (talk) 22:12, 17 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

Thank you for created several articles on Bulgarian villages, I hope you will continue :):):) However, I don't know by whom it was agreed but in English Wikipedia we usually use Banya, Pazardzhik Province not Banya (Pazardzhik Province). There are municipality templates and many of them are already filled in with probably more than 1,000 villages and the first model has been always used... Regards, --Gligan (talk) 11:04, 8 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Thanks for the heads up on disambiguating Bulgarian village names. Prior to my creating the new articles, I saw some existing ones in the format "Banya (Pazardzhik Province)". It wasn't until later than I noticed others using the format "Banya, Pazardzhik Province". That actually seems to agree with the the guidelines at Wikipedia:Naming conventions (geographic names) #Disambiguation, so I will use that format in the future. -- Zyxw (talk) 14:28, 8 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Keep up the good work on Bulgaria-related articles, Zyxw! Thanks a lot for your contributions on behalf of WP:BG! TodorBozhinov 08:00, 15 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks. I started working on that while locating province names for each location on the list of airports in Bulgaria. Eventually I'd like to update each province article to match what I did at Montana Province #Municipalities and Montana Province #Towns and villages. I'll try to get back to that as time allows. -- Zyxw (talk) 22:49, 19 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

You have done lots of good work here! Very nice! Timneu22 (talk) 19:59, 19 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks. Glad that it is appreciated. -- Zyxw (talk) 22:30, 19 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Can you explain this edit? I don't have a problem with it, I just don't get it.... thanks! Timneu22 (talk) 01:56, 9 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
That edit added {{Template sandbox notice}} which is displayed only when the documentation is transcluded on the /sandbox page. The template provides a reminder that you are viewing the /sandbox version of the template and it also contains a link to the /testcases page (if one exists). To see this, view {{Infobox U.S. County/sandbox}} and compare that to {{Infobox U.S. County}}.-- Zyxw (talk) 02:54, 9 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Proposed deletion of Bukovets

[edit]

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Bukovets, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process because of the following concern:

100% red-linked disambiguation page

All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised because, even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. Hellno2 (talk) 06:25, 21 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I removed the PROD template from Bukovets, since this disambiguation page is no longer 100% red-linked (see Bukovets, Montana Province). -- Zyxw (talk) 06:50, 21 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

KBMQ

[edit]

Good morning. I noticed that you've added the "airport" parameter to the {{disambig}} template on a few pages. Having never used it myself, I'm not sure, but the description on the category page suggests that it's only supposed to be used for dab pages where multiple airports share the same name. Just wondering what you think? Mlaffs (talk) 14:23, 10 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I noticed that the KBMQ disambiguation page lists one radio station and one airport, yet instead of using {{disambig}} which adds it to Category:Disambiguation pages, you used {{disambig|callsign}} which also adds it to Category:Broadcast call sign disambiguation pages. I thought it made sense to follow that same logic and add the "airport" parameter/category by using {{disambig|callsign|airport}}. As for the description on the page Category:Airport disambiguation, it was incorrect and has been updated. A better explanation of the category usage can be found at Template:Airport disambig. I actually created both the category and the template back in December 2007, but someone else added the previous description. -- Zyxw (talk) 19:28, 10 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Glad I asked; that's fantastic. You basically have it working exactly the same way as the Callsign template and parameter do. There are dozens — maybe even a hundred — similar pages, so I'll start adding the parameter as I see them. I'm actually doing a bit of a walk-through of the dab pages on my watchlist right now, so they might all get done by the end of the day! Mlaffs (talk) 19:41, 10 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Okay, I've gone through everything on my watchlist and added the parameter on any of the pages that included an airport. Looks like a good bump for the category. Hope it's a help. Mlaffs (talk) 01:42, 20 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

capitalization

[edit]

I just noticed that it was your recent changes that I undid, to the capitalization of ground sample distance. I'm wondering why you decided to capitalize it, as if it were a proper name. Keep in mind that wp policy is to use lower case except for things are "almost always" capitalized, like names. Even when things are followed by acronyms like "(GSD)", they should not be capitalized. Dicklyon (talk) 02:08, 26 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I created Ground sample distance then moved it to Ground Sample Distance because when searching Wikipedia and Google, it seemed to be used more often with each word capitalized. Please feel free to move it back to the lower case version if you wish. -- Zyxw (talk) 02:18, 26 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I replied to your reply at my talk page since your reply was there first. Dicklyon (talk) 02:23, 26 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

AFD

[edit]

A disambiguation page of yours is in AFD: Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Liberty County Airport. Joe Chill (talk) 03:02, 9 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for notifying me about Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Liberty County Airport. I added a third airport to the Liberty County Airport disambiguation page and created a new article for the red link. That should resolve the issues mentioned in the AFD. -- Zyxw (talk) 05:35, 9 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Airport tables

[edit]

Thank you for your contributions to {{Airport table top}} & {{Airport table row}}. I'm curious, though, why you've made the coordinates column optional, and removed it from List of airports in Libya - surely it's better to encourage people to populate that column? We can then use {{kml}} so that people can see all the airports from such a page, overlaid no a map. Andy Mabbett (User:Pigsonthewing); Andy's talk; Andy's edits 19:14, 15 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I agree with adding coordinates to the lists of airports by country, and have been one of the people doing this. I came across these templates in List of airports in Libya, which I thought looked odd because it had a "Coordinates" column heading with no coordinates listed. That was my reason for updating {{Airport table top}} and {{Airport table row}} to make the coordinates optional. It is certainly a good idea to encourage others to contribute. I would suggest adding the coordinates for at least one airport if the "Coordinates" column heading is included when implementing these templates. -- Zyxw (talk) 07:54, 16 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Great job with Template:AIP FR

[edit]

Hello! I'm very impressed with your recent changes to Template:AIP FR. Your new code to automatically modify the URL dynamically based on the current date is both VERY useful and quite interesting to look at, in the editor. Thanks for adding that enhancement! --Itsfullofstars (talk) 03:20, 23 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for your kind words regarding my update to {{AIP FR}}. When I first created that template, along with the {{AIP AU}}, {{AIP NL}}, {{FAA-diagram}} and {{FAA-procedures}} templates, the goal was to be able to place a link in an airport article that would work after the URL changed. However, that did rely on someone updating the templates every 28 days (or 4 times a year for Australia). Now that I've got the French AIP link automated, I plan to implement similar code in the other templates. -- Zyxw (talk) 15:23, 23 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

NowCommons: File:KQA-b.jpg

[edit]

File:KQA-b.jpg is now available on Wikimedia Commons as Commons:File:KQA-b.jpg. This is a repository of free media that can be used on all Wikimedia wikis. The image will be deleted from Wikipedia, but this doesn't mean it can't be used anymore. You can embed an image uploaded to Commons like you would an image uploaded to Wikipedia, in this case: [[File:KQA-b.jpg]]. Note that this is an automated message to inform you about the move. This bot did not copy the image itself. --Erwin85Bot (talk) 04:39, 4 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
