Usha Sanyal is a scholar and historian whose PhD dissertation analysed the Islamic legal scholar Ahmed Raza Khan Fazil-e-Barelvi.[1] Usha Sanyal is Adjunct Lecturer at Queens University of Charlotte, North Carolina۔[2]

Sanyal has authored two books:

  • Devotional Islam and Politics in British India: Ahmed Raza Khan Barelwi and His Movement, 1870-1920. 1st & 2nd editions. New York and Delhi: Oxford University Press, 1999. 3rd edition. Delhi:Yoda Press, 2010 (Urdu Translation in 2013)
