Vinod Ganpat Kambli (Marathi: विनोद कांबळी (born 18 January 1972, Mumbai, Maharashtra) is a former Indian cricketer, who played for India, Mumbai and Boland.
Career
Kambli hails from Kanjurmarg, a suburb of Mumbai.
He shared an unbroken partnership of 664 in a school match against St. Xavier's School, Fort, with Sachin Tendulkar.[1] Kambli contributed 349* before their coach Acharekar forced the pair to declare. Kambli, who started his Ranji trophy career with a six off the first ball he faced,[2] soon followed Sachin in to the Indian team. Kambli made two double-centuries[vague] and two centuries in seven tests. He played in his last Test match age 24. Some say that Kambli had equal, or even more ability than of Sachin Tendulkar, leading runscorer in Tests and ODI's, but could never nurture his talent due to mental problems.

Personal life
Vinod Kambli married Andrea; the couple has a child born in June 2010.[5]
In the 2009 Vidhan Sabha election, he Contested from Vikhroli, Mumbai as a Lok Bharati Party candidate. He lost the election.[6]
