WCON-FM (99.3 FM) is a radio station broadcasting a Country music format. Licensed to Cornelia, Georgia, USA, the station is currently owned by Habersham Broadcasting Co. and features programming from ABC Radio.[1] WCON-FM is also the home for broadcasting the Habersham Central High School "Raiders" Atlanta Braves. WCON also carries Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets football.

History

WCON-FM went on the air in 1965 as a Class A station and was upgraded to a C2 class radio station with 50,000 watts of power in 1989. On December 5th 2015, WCON upgraded to 100,000 watts of power. Coverage extends all over North Georgia, reaching beyond metro Atlanta, Greenville, South Carolina, and equal distances in other directions. WCON-FM is a full-time radio station operating 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.WCON's request line is always open by calling 706-778-2241 or *993 from your AT&T wireless phone. WCON-FM is your station for continuous country favorites and 2 hours of great Southern Gospel 5pm-7pm, Monday - Friday (Georgia's longest running Gospel Show) "Suppertime Gospel". WCON-FM streams on-line at www.wconfm.com.

WCON-FM broadcasts in stereo 24 hours a day with 100,000 Watts on 99.3 megacycles, with its transmitter and 803-foot tower located in White County about a mile from the Hall County line. The station's studios and offices are at 540 North Main Street in Cornelia.
