Discussion
[edit]- Given the amount of time that it takes to get these requests approved, it would be great if Noommos could get approval to perform this type of task for say any batch with under 5000 links, and after a request has been placed (unopposed) at WP:BOTREQ for say "a couple days". More speedy action could be allowed if the link is now completely dead, and/or is being redirected to a spam page. I am noting this since there is now an additional request for another 500 links at WP:BOTREQ, and it appears to be rather uncontroversial. Just a suggestion. Thanks! - With task 2 coming along nicely, I would prefer to run this one time task before doing a full run of the book reports task. Noom talk contribs 21:51, 22 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Approved. You're good to go here. Per Plastikspork, I'm going to go ahead and grant approval for all tasks of this type (i.e. using the same code), provided it will edit less than 5,000 pages and the request has been unopposed at WP:BOTREQ for at least three days. — The Earwig (talk) 21:15, 23 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]
