I am nominating this for featured list because it is complete and referenced, and it is modeled after the FL Academy Award for Best Director. The Ariel Award is the most important film award in Mexico, known as the Mexican equivalent to the Oscars. Comments – The FLC leaders were pinged so that one of us could review the list, and it looks like this is still outstanding. I guess I'll take it.
  • First off, the FL criteria call for "a minimal proportion of items [that] are redlinked." It looks like almost all of the yearly awards pages haven't been created yet. This can be excused given that it's only one column, but many of the directors and films also don't have links. The latter are presented as regular text, indicating that they are non-notable, but is that really the case? WP:N gives as a probably indicator of notability: "The person has received a well-known and significant award or honor, or has been nominated for one several times." To me, it sounds like the winners of Mexico's biggest film directing award should be considered notable, as the Mexican media will likely have given them significant coverage. I won't oppose for now, but would like to hear your thoughts on why some of the directors (and most of the films) aren't notable enough for links, and on whether you think FL criterion 5a will be met if they are linked.
It was very surprising to me to find just a few articles related to the awarded films. I am currently working on four other lists for Ariel acting awards, and after that I'll start with articles for the winners for Best Picture and Best Director.   • "the committee submit their votes through the official AMACC website." This should read "the committee members submit their votes", as it sounds like the committee itself is voting, not the people in the committee.

  • "and also received the Academy Award for Best Director...". "also" is redundant to the previous word.

  • The lead says that there was a gap in presenting the award from 1958 to 1972, but our table is showing a gap from 1959 to 1971, and one of the few existing yearly Ariel Award articles indicates that this honor was presented for the 1972 film year. It might be helpful to indicate that the award is for films released in the prior year, but in any event the lead's timespan needs fixing.

  • If this award is notable, then recipients of it should be notable as well, wouldn't you think? I'm curious as to why there are so many not-even-red-linked directors, e.g. Carlos Enrique Taboada, Diego López Rivera, Juan Pablo Villaseñor...
