I created this from scratch a couple weeks ago using largely B-class or higher selections and a wide variety of pictures. As the portal peer review has been inactive, I figured I'd just send it over here. Thanks, Juliancolton Tropical Cyclone 17:47, 16 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
- Need links to Wikimedia Foundation projects. OhanaUnitedTalk page 03:40, 17 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
- Done, thanks. Juliancolton Tropical Cyclone 12:49, 17 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
- Also need links to show archive or other selections. OhanaUnitedTalk page 17:02, 17 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
- Very good start. I would suggest:
- Moving the WikiProjects, Categories, and Related Portals to the bottom, and combining them in some way horizontally. I think they're taking up too much space as is, and moving them would shorten the page while also highlighting the encyclopedic content.
- The "things you should do list" should also go to the bottom, its in a weird spot right now.
- The columns seem to be uneven, perhaps its just my browser, but the left looks wider then the right.
- The DYK, selected articles, etc., probably need more entries before going to fully featured status.
- In addition to the selected picture (which can be anything), I think another picture should be included at the top in the first entry (Hudson Valley Portal) per Portal:American Civil War, perhaps limited to featured pictures only. MrPrada (talk) 02:43, 20 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
- Thanks for the comments. I moved the categories to the bottom, but if I did the same with related portals and WikiProjects, the page would be very unbalanced. Also, I can't find a good place for the things you can do list that doesn't mess up the entire page. Also, as the portal is using the random selection, sometimes the left column is a little longer, and sometimes the right column is longer. About the DYKs, I try to use new articles for DYKs, but there really aren't that many new articles. Juliancolton Tropical Cyclone 13:04, 20 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
- Oppose—I have serious concerns about the selections.
- Add a Things to do box at the bottom, as a portal is also used to help encourage contributing to certain articles within the topic. I suggest a simple one like the ones used in Portal:Ice hockey or Portal:Mars
- Please add an archive for the DYKs
- Kevin Reiman is being AfDed currently, and is a stub. Please remove it from selected bio.
- Michael C. Finnegan is a bit short; considering the scope of the topic, it may be acceptable, but if possible, please replace with something of higher quality.
- John Degnan has neutrality issues; not the best biography to showcase
- High Falls Historic District is short, and not well-referenced. Please replace that.
- Washington's Headquarters State Historic Site is short and lacks referencing. Needs replacing.
- Hudson River Maritime Museum is a stub.
- Hulet Clark Farmstead is short as well.
- Please standardize the more links, and only link there, and not link in the bold text.

Either the page is no longer relevant or consensus on its purpose has become unclear. To revive discussion, seek broader input via a forum such as the village pump.
