Wikipedia:Featured and good topic removal candidates
Removing Good and Featured Topics in Wikipedia If you feel a topic on Wikipedia:Featured topics or a topic on Wikipedia:Good topics should no longer be there, then this is the place to nominate it for demotion. Only topics that do not adhere to the good or featured topic criteria should be listed. Objections raised must be actionable. Do not nominate topics that have recently been promoted (such complaints should have been brought up during the candidacy period on Wikipedia:Featured and good topic candidates), or topics that have recently survived a removal attempt—such nominations are likely to be removed summarily. Once a topic has been nominated on this page for ten days, the discussion will be assessed for consensus by one of the FGTC coordinators, who will close the discussion. If there is consensus to remove, it will be removed from the list of featured topic, and added to the list of former featured topics. All discussions will be logged at Wikipedia:Featured topic removal candidates/archive. The removal instructions are located here. |

Nomination procedure
Supporting and objecting[edit]Please read all the articles of the nominated topic fully before deciding to support or oppose a nomination.
Consensus must be reached for a topic to be removed from featured status. If enough time passes without objections being resolved, nominations will be removed from the candidates list and archived. As a general guide, new topics will remain on here for at least 10 days to allow for comment, and must have at least 4 remove votes (although consensus and lack of major objections are also important) for removal. |
Topics nominated for removal
[edit]Parachutes
[edit]I really hate to be *that person* (especially since I don't really linger around the Topics space too much), but I regrettably don't think that this qualifies as being a Good Topic anymore due to the creation of pages for "Sparks" and the Parachutes Tour, the former having been created almost one year ago and the latter having been created almost two years back. While both articles have seen relatively consistent and recent editing by User:GustavoCza (who has also created the articles in question), neither seem like they are currently in any shape to be nominated for GA, and in any case it seems to be well beyond the three month grace period allotted for in WP:GTCRITERIA. I'm terribly sorry if I've made a mistake somewhere here. Leafy46 (talk) 02:06, 9 January 2025 (UTC)
Guitar Hero was demoted on 31 July 2024, there is no effort to change that, and without it the topic fails criterion 3.b. Armbrust The Homunculus 09:09, 19 December 2024 (UTC)
- Delist – real shame this, hopefully someone works on the lead article soon. Idiosincrático (talk) 09:54, 19 December 2024 (UTC)
- I'm concerned that the GH article was delisted with no comments, and given I was the one that progressed it and the topic through GA and FL, got no notification of it (I have a huge watchlist so that could easily fall through). I'm not disagreeing with the issues about the article's problems but they were all readily fixable if I had been notified. --Masem (t) 13:49, 19 December 2024 (UTC)
Fails criterion 3.b as UEFA Euro 2024 final is not a WP:GA, isn't being worked on, and is past the three month grace period (the match was played on 14 July). Armbrust The Homunculus 09:00, 19 December 2024 (UTC)
- Remove – Hopefully someone picks this up. Idiosincrático (talk) 09:55, 19 December 2024 (UTC)
Fails criterion 3.b as San Marino in the Eurovision Song Contest 2024 is not a WP:GA, isn't being worked on, and is past the three month grace period (the Eurovision Song Contest ended on 11 May). Armbrust The Homunculus 09:58, 11 October 2024 (UTC)
Remove – Idiosincrático (talk) 11:09, 11 October 2024 (UTC)Wait – Pending 2024 GAN. Idiosincrático (talk) 04:00, 22 October 2024 (UTC)
- Comment. I admit that I missed the 3-month grace period, but as the edit history shows, it would be untrue to say that I'm not working on it. It's certainly clear that I'm focused on getting this next one nominated, considering the edits I've made in the last 2 weeks. Probably only a few days out in fact. Honestly, the 6+ month wait for GA reviews has really slowed any sense of urgency, and I had held off to not overwhelm the GA process and add to its crazy backlog. - You made 5 edits to that page in the last 5 months. I wouldn't call that "working on it". Armbrust The Homunculus 20:23, 11 October 2024 (UTC)
- The edits were on the last 3 consecutive Saturdays, the only day I have time to do more than just housekeeping edits. Anyway, it's nominated now, so I finished it on a Friday, one day earlier than I anticipated. Thanks for the push! Grk1011 (talk) 20:39, 11 October 2024 (UTC)

- Keep. 2024 article has now passed GA review and is undergoing addition to the topic now. Sims2aholic8 (talk) 13:29, 6 January 2025 (UTC)
- Keep now that San Marino in the Eurovision Song Contest 2024 is a good article. Regards, Armbrust The Homunculus 16:09, 6 January 2025 (UTC)
