Wikipedia:Peer review/A Very Merry Unauthorized Children's Scientology Pageant/archive1
This article is a Good Article, first listed after passing WP:GAC in June 2007. It was reassessed by a different reviewer in August 2007 as part of Wikipedia:WikiProject Good articles/Project quality task force, and the reviewer decided to keep it as a Good Article. I have done some restructuring, added an introduction that summarizes the article, and added a few more citations. I want to check if there is anything else that can be done to improve the article further, before putting it up as a Featured Article Candidate. Thank you for taking a look. - Points- John Carmichael (Scientology) is a redlink; The cast recording section is a little skeleton-like, maybe add info like track durations to the track list, or hide it in a tab? See the track listings in Music of Final Fantasy VIII for what I mean. Other than that, looks great! (Disclaimer- I'm the original GA reviewer.) --PresN 19:08, 24 October 2007 (UTC)
- Thank you. I red-linked Carmichael (wikilink corrected, above), because I thought he was notable enough, but just never got around to creating an article. I suppose I could de-link it, and just leave Carmichael as plain text, or I could go and look for sources. Something to think about before WP:FAC. I will take a look at Music of Final Fantasy VIII to see what you mean. Curt Wilhelm VonSavage 23:20, 24 October 2007 (UTC).
- Wow! That new box really does look much better! Thank you! Curt Wilhelm VonSavage 23:33, 24 October 2007 (UTC).

- Please see automated peer review suggestions here. Thanks, APR t 00:53, 26 October 2007 (UTC)
- I read the automated review. Thank you for doing this, even though it was automated, there are some very good points and I will strive to address them all so that this article may be a good WP:FAC candidate at some point soon. Curt Wilhelm VonSavage 03:05, 26 October 2007 (UTC).
- Done - I reorganized the bottom three sections of the article according to Wikipedia:Guide to layout, per a suggestion from the automated review. Curt Wilhelm VonSavage 03:18, 26 October 2007 (UTC).
- Done - I decided to just remove the wikilink to Carmichael after all, so there are no redlinks in the article. If the article gets created down the line, we can always wikilink it later. Curt Wilhelm VonSavage 02:44, 27 October 2007 (UTC).
- Done - I formatted the music section, per PresN (talk · contribs)'s suggestion, from a similar section at Music of Final Fantasy VIII. I will, however, probably expand that section a little bit more with more cited paragraph commentary on the piece. Curt Wilhelm VonSavage 02:46, 27 October 2007 (UTC).
- Done - From automated peer review suggestion, which cited Wikipedia:Context and Wikipedia:Build the web, removed wikilinks from years without full dates, and added wikilink to year with a full date. Curt Wilhelm VonSavage 02:54, 27 October 2007 (UTC).
- The only automated peer review suggestion remaining is to make sure the article exemplifies some of Wikipedia's best work, and to consult User:Tony1/How to satisfy Criterion 1a. Curt Wilhelm VonSavage 03:10, 27 October 2007 (UTC).
- Some more ideas
From Ruhrfisch (talk · contribs) :
- There are too many "Obie" mentions, cut it down from four to two. Done - Curt Wilhelm VonSavage 04:55, 27 October 2007 (UTC).
- How long is the play? Done - I found out that the play is an hour long, but not sure if I placed this short sentence in the right spot (at the end of "Plot.") Curt Wilhelm VonSavage 10:21, 27 October 2007 (UTC).
- How many acts? Done - One act. And I moved this one sentence (act and hour-long), up to the lead paragraph. Curt Wilhelm VonSavage 10:30, 27 October 2007 (UTC).
- How long were its runs at each theater (mentioned for some, not all)? Done Well, virtually almost done. I added the exact dates of each production runs of the play that are described in the Performances section of the article, save for one - the original run dates for the November 2003 production. Unfortunately, so far I have been unable to find a cite for that, I hope that's okay to just say "November 2003" and "ran through that winter", because that much is cited. I also added dates for an upcoming production run in Atlanta, Georgia, at the same place as it was before. Curt Wilhelm VonSavage 15:49, 28 October 2007 (UTC).
These are all great questions and I will endeavour to find answers and add them to the article. When I do, I will check them off here. Curt Wilhelm VonSavage 04:55, 27 October 2007 (UTC).
- Sourcing
- I am not familiar with any FA articles on plays (I write mostly on creeks), but it would be good to find a model FA play article and compare this to that. Since Scientology is a controversial topic here (and elsewhere) you might want to make doubly sure that every potentially controversial statement is sourced and have someone check it for NPOV compliance. Ruhrfisch ><>°° 19:16, 27 October 2007 (UTC)
- I agree with Ruhrfisch the potential for controversy is very high, make sure that all the statements are referenced from a credible source. Dincher 21:15, 27 October 2007 (UTC)
- Done Actually, I already checked, thank you, and every single sentence is backed up to at least one, in many cases two or three sources that satisfy WP:RS nicely. However, thanks for the suggestion, I will try to find a nice WP:FA article about a Play or Musical to take some more ideas from. Curt Wilhelm VonSavage 23:10, 27 October 2007 (UTC).

Porgy and Bess is a musical FA-class article to compare. Thespis (opera) is another very good article about a musical play. Also see Wikipedia:WikiProject Musical Theatre/Article Structure. Best regards, -- Ssilvers 15:21, 9 November 2007 (UTC)
- Thanks! I'll try to take a look at that soon. Curt Wilhelm VonSavage 20:36, 9 November 2007 (UTC).
