Abraham Lincoln was taken to GA about ten years ago, but fell short of FA. There is new energy to push the article to FA, but much work is needed. It will be no small task, but as the 39th most read article of all time, it is very important to take it to FA. Any and all suggestions on how to take it to FA are most appreciated!

- Some of the external links included appear to be of limited value, eg MusicBrainz
- Citation formatting will need significant cleanup before FAC. Similar sources should be formatted similarly - for example, some of the books include publication location and some don't. (It's not mandatory, but either all should have it or none should).

- the Park Service for example is a publisher. Some of your book refs are missing page numbers or chapters. - Some of the references are of questionable reliability - for example footnote 33 is to a student club. Nikkimaria (talk) 02:25, 28 March 2020 (UTC)
- I have read the entire article. Minor criticisms:
- The Timothy Cole ambrotype of Lincoln. Ambrotype should be wikilinked. I was unaware of what an ambrotype was and had to look it up.
- The term "suffrage" appears twice in the article, as in, "he voted to expand suffrage beyond white land owners to all white males..." A brief definition of what suffrage means in this context in needed. How's does this differ from Women's suffrage?
- In the section on religion, a brief definition is required re: "renting a pew". Was this a common practice? Is it still? Was it limited to the Presbyterian faith?
- Vicksburg is mentioned several times in the article, but is only wikilinked under the General Grant subsection of the Civil War. It should be wikilinked sooner (when first used).
- Under assassination, it is stated "bearheaded Union officers escorted his body to the White House in the rain." Why were they bearheaded? Was this a common practice by military personnel in mourning? Was it because it was raining?
- Finally, I agree with Nikkimaria that you may need to do significant clean-up of the reference section of the article. Usually, the FA reviewers prefer to see book sources broken down and page numbers cited as Harvard references. I realize this would be a time consuming and tedious process given the size of the article and number of references. I would hope that this wouldn't be a deal breaker, but I am not an FA reviewer.
- All that being said, I see no reason why this should not be resubmitted for FA review. Good luck! DrGregMN (talk) 12:54, 8 April 2020 (UTC)
