Re the section Polar bears have wide home ranges. They may independently travel an average of 142,332 km2 (54,955 sq mi) per year, while drifting ice allows them to move even further at 178,040 km2 (68,740 sq mi) per year.[72] Depending on ice conditions, a bear can travel an average of 12 km (7.5 mi) per day.[73] These movements are powered by their energy-rich diet.[49] this seems to be conflating two related concepts, the area over which they range and the distance that they travel, plus alluding to the concept that they travel both on ice and by swimming and the ice they are on can travel. Re Bears are also capable swimmers. One study found they can swim an average of 154.2 km (95.8 mi) with an average duration of 3.4 days.[74] They can dive for as long as three minutes.[75] Is this meant to be "Bears" or is is it more that "All bears can swim, but Polar bears are much better/more frequent swimmers than other bears"? Range: The range is described as including Alaska, Canada, Russia and Greenland, But the map shows it as being limited to Arctic coastal waters and the littoral, except for Greenland where the whole island is shown as Polar Bear habitat. I have my suspicions about the map showing Polar bears in central Greenland, but I think the description is wrong and the range only includes parts of those countries and states. Water: The bit about salt removal by the kidneys piqued my attention. Do they have to drink, or do they get enough water from digesting hydrogenated oils? If they need to drink do they get water from snow, freshwater or can they drink seawater? Ϣere SpielChequers 10:23, 31 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I don't get the question. It's just saying that polar bears sometimes eat plant food. They clearly don't need to as the next sentence states "The polar bear cannot derive enough energy from such foods, since its digestive system is too specialized for animal matter." Images, possibly too many for FA norms and a continual column on the right hand side means that depending on browser or display choice means they can drift far from relevant content. Thinking of the example of Inner German Border minigalleries may help especially where there are relevant images for that section (disclosure, it may have been me that added the Dorset culture image) I'm pretty sure that hunting, culture, raising cubs, fat v starving, and white v yellow fur would be among the sections that would benefit from minigalleries.
