Trying to ID a song[edit]

I heard a song on some kind of amateur dance video several years ago (at least four or five, maybe more) and I'm trying to identify the song. It is sung by a female vocalist with a well, dance, oriented kind of beat. Strong, but not pounding, bass line. I've tried Googling various bits of the lyrics, but with no success. Here's what I recall of the lyrics, but they're probably not in the right order after all these years. I would assume that "Yeah Yeah Girl" is the title since it's repeated often in the song, but I don't turn up any hits, and the spelling might even be off (Ya-Ya, Yah-Yah, Yea-Yea, et.)

You didn't google hard enough :) I found the lyrics eventually on a Russian site. It looks like it was called "I was a Ye-ye girl", by Doing Time + In-Grid. The lyrics - in English - are here. Madonna Video[edit]

stones "satisfaction" remix[edit]

this has been bugging me for a couple of years; since that time period, the radio stations have been playing what is apparently a remix of the original Stones recording of Satisfaction, with the fuzz guitar buried way down and the acoustic pulled up. ruins the point of the song, for me. Anybody know the story behind this version, so i can be sure to avoid it when I get around to buying a CD with the song on it? Gzuckier 15:37, 10 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Actors in 300[edit]

I finally watched that movie 300 last night. I am wondering why all the Spartan characters are depicted as having perfectly hairless torsos?.... King Leonidas is depicted as the manliest of men, complete with a full beard, but his skin didn't seem to go through puberty from the neck down. I realize that the movie is incredibly sytlized and I could just as easily ask the questions about other, more bizarre costume/make-up choices from the film, but let's stick to the body hair issue for now.--The Fat Man Who Never Came Back 19:27, 10 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Wow, upon further investigation it appears that, historically, this is a common interpretation. The painter David saw Leonidas as hairless (and pantsless) too. See Image:Jacques-Louis_David_004.jpg. Visible body hair is not a universal trait (although it did seem to be with the Italian kids I knew in high school). I would imagine that the lack of body hair was probably an aesthetic ideal. Throw in the fact that people like David were looking back through the lens of what classical art survived including statues on which it wasn't really feasible to depict body hair and that probably goes a long way.
