Who would they support?[edit]

The club they support would depend on the person. Many people support their 'home' town rather than the town they perhaps live in. Others support a team because they are one of the better teams around, or they have a family tie to that team (say their father supported them). As a result there's no guarantee. People in the city of Manchester are often said to support Manchester City, whilst Manchester United have a more broad spectrum of fans ranging from all over the country (indeed the world). The closest football ground to the city centre campus of the University of Manchester (i.e. the bit which used to be UMIST) is the City of Manchester Stadium, about half an hours walk away. This includes both league and non-league teams, none of the teams in the league Carom linked to are closer (most of the non-league clubs are in the suburbs). Stevie Nicks[edit]

Hi, let me first say I'm not very knowledgeable about rock music. I first heard "Gold Dust Woman" being sung by Sheryl Crow and Stevie Nicks in 1999. I only heard the 1977 original by Fleetwood Mac years afterwards, and I was instantly struck by how different the voices were.

Nowadays she seems to have a very deep voice, but on Rumous she seems to have such a fragile voice. Are there any solo albums from Stevie Nicks where I can hear her younger voice? Thank you. --Kjoonlee 16:34, 15 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

As far as I know, her earliest commercial recordings were Buckingham Nicks (1974) and Fleetwood Mac (1975 album), neither solo. The former is out of print, but is widely bootlegged online. Tusk (album) (1979) features a few Nicks vocals you might like very much—"Beautiful Child" is especially bare and sentimental, and wows some listeners to the point of embarrassment (including me when I was 16). Her solo career started in the 80s, after certain lifestyle choices are said to have affected her singing voice. Honestly I think Nicks may have simply chosen to project more, and by 1999 age may be the biggest factor. What I've heard of Bella Donna (album) (1981) sounded similar, tho this Rolling Stone review suggests I may be misremembering. / edg ☺ ☭ 18:45, 15 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
