Song Background

[edit]

I'm looking for any stories or other background behind the song, Whispering, by Schonberger, Coburn and Rose, first published in 192070.24.170.223 (talk) 16:10, 24 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

There's not much there, but have you read Whispering (song)?--Shantavira|feed me 09:00, 25 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Whats up...

[edit]

... with that punching sound heard in movies and teevee shows? --Abin Sur (talk) 17:34, 24 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I'm not sure what you're asking - could you be more specific please? Anyway, this google search returns some links to downloadable sound clips. Zain Ebrahim (talk) 18:40, 24 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

It sounds nothing at all like an actual punch. Why? Obviously for effect, but its startlingly unlike the actual sound. And how do "they" create the sound? Where did it start? --Abin Sur (talk) 19:37, 24 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Here's a good explanation : The Straight Dope : How do they make "punch" sounds in movies? -- APL (talk) 22:16, 24 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The West Wing: Poster in the office of Toby Ziegler

[edit]

In the TV serial The West Wing, the character Toby Ziegler has a poster in his office (at least the first season) which looks lika a reproduction of an art print. Does somebody know who the artist is? /B****n (talk) 18:45, 24 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Do you have a picture of the poster we can look at, or a link to one online? Algebraist 18:54, 24 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I googled "toby ziegler poster" and found this link, which says the poster is Amnesty International's, celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Universal Declaration on Human Rights. `--- OtherDave (talk) 19:31, 24 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]
That's not the one I had in mind. The poster I was asking about can be seen on this Youtube-clip. You can get a rather good look at it at 3:26. /B****n (talk) 21:13, 24 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The print is "Earth Bouquet" by Daniel Gelakoska
