ad-less youtube videos?[edit]

I noticed today that there haven't been any ads in my the videos on youtube that i usually watch. While I'm thrilled to see the pre-google approach, I'm worried because I never sign in to watch stuff on youtube, and honestly given that all google does on that site in push products and service I don't need nor have any desire whatsoever to watch I'm worried that this could be some sort of virus or hack. Is there a legitimate reason why the ads have suddenly disappeared? If not then I may need to go offline and have my machine checked out. TomStar81 (Talk) 14:48, 30 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

There are many ways that the ads on YouTube could have stopped playing; depending on the browser you use. Recently YouTube itself has been offering a free trial to all users by simply clicking on their "ad free" promotion (or did you sign up for their "ad free" monthly service?). Per chance did you do this by mistake? or in Chrome there is an Ad Block extension that effects YouTube ads. Internet Explorer and Firefox allows you to "Manage Add-ons" or "Get Add-ons" with ad block options; even Android and iOS has ad blocker apps / options. (but you would have had to do this manually on purpose) Last, sometimes if you've watched the same video twice, an ad will not replay; but if this is occurring on all the videos that you are watching, I dare say that this is the reason. I don't sign up for anything from google, I'm too paranoid for that (in fact when I'm not at my machine I make it a point to disconnect the internet cable that links it to the modem and put it in hidden spot so no one else can put my machine online). I do not believe that I would have clicked on any ad free promotions because I do not recall seeing anything like that recently. Ad blocker, though, could be the reason why there are no ads being shown. Mine is set to off with add ons disabled save but for the ones I know to specifically needed (and even then they have to ask first). I use Mozilla if that helps, I was advised to switch to it some years back because they had a spell check feature and my spelling is...well lets just say it left much to be desired :) And it can't be a same video twice thing because they don't replay. I've been on and off my browser all night and there are no ads, although I am still getting that white dot at the top which oddly makes me feel somewhat better. I also see that google is under fire for ads on youtube at the moment, so i suppose its vaguely possible that they have pulled the ads for the time being. How does imdbpro work?[edit]

According to IMDb#IMDBPRO you get access to agent contact info, which in almost all cases will not be the celebrity himself, but rather the Talent agent who manages the celebrity's business.

Some agents will pass fan mail along, but not all of them. Besides that, celebs that get a lot of fan mail won't respond personally, anyway. ApLundell (talk) 16:52, 31 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]
