Wikipedia:Requests for feedback/2011 June 26

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

I've done as much research on this underground hip hop artist / poet as i feel possible. My question is...how does it look?

Reference Dimension (my first Wikipedia article)

[edit]

Please review this article I wrote: User:Nksambaker/Reference Dimension

I am a Senior Mechanical Engineer with over 10 years experience with drawings and dimensions. After many years of frustration regarding mis-conceptions about what a "Reference Dimension" really is, I thought for sure there would be a Wikipedia article about them and to my surprise, there isn't!!! After using Wikipedia for so long, I just felt like it was time for me to finally put in a few hours and contribute to Wikipedia with my very first Wikipedia article. I hope it lives up to Wikipedia's standards!

I gave it a lookover. Please take a look at my comments on the draft's talk page. I left the box up on the page in the hopes that someone else may take a look, too, who might be more familiar with engineering. You might get more feedback from someone in the Engineering WikiProject if you post something there, if you haven't already. Wabbott9 (talk) 01:58, 27 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Would somebody please review my new article. It's about a startup company well known a decade ago.

SergeyV (talk) 06:59, 26 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Alas, many companies came and went during the internet bubble, so not sure this quaifies as "well known". It barely qualifies for Wikipedia:Notability (organizations and companies) if it does. In the section "Depth of coverage" it states that mere mentions of products and the company coming and going does not suffice. It might just be merged as a paragraph into Synopsys, its parent company for ten of its 13 years it seems. It suffers from other problems, such as an unsourced promotional quote, and undefined jargon. Presumably it might something to do with the C programming language or hardware description languages? I will take a look.

The list of canoe and kayak sprint European Championships organized by ECA. Overall medal table will be added later.

I will make an article for each ECH.

I hope this is a straightforward first article for Wikipedia. COI: I am a member of the association which this article is about, but I am not involved in its organisation or administration. To this end, I don't think the neutrality is affected.

I've based the length and scope of the article on other entries on similar medical associations (similar in size and notability).

Any comments gratefully received. Many thanks.

Would like the article reviewed

[edit]

I have followed the guidelines for reliable sources and found and included references to newspapers where our organization was mentioned, but some how can not seem to get this article to get out of this feedback/reliable sources section and would like some advice to how I get the article to appear in the wikipedia directory. Thanks so much I greatly appreciate it

Could you give a link to the article in question? Your article should appear in the directory automatically once it is in the main article space. Wabbott9 (talk) 02:10, 27 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Moved this article from my user space to article space after the OK from another user. More feedback would be appreciated.

Way over my head, sorry. :) But it looks good and I've removed the new article tag. I suggest you request more detailed feedback for accuracy and whatnot from WikiProject Physics or WikiProject Mathematics. Try posting in their discussion pages: Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Physics or Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Mathematics. I also encourage you to join one or both projects based on your interests.-- ObsidinSoul 14:17, 30 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for the help! I'll join those two projects and ask them for more feedback. Take care, Compsonheir (talk) 15:42, 30 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

This is my first wikipedia article, and it needs to be reviewed by someone other than it's creator.

Article looks good, especially for a first article :) Subject seems notable enough. However you need to provide author and source information on the picture. Wikipedia has very strict policies regarding image use. Please read the image use policy for more information on what is required to be on an image page. Please take care of it as soon as possible or it will be deleted within seven days.-- ObsidinSoul 14:02, 30 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Please review my new article Harmony Hammond. Thanks!

Done, here. Done some relatively minor fixes and formatting, added an infobox and related wikiprojects in the talkpage. If you have any questions about my changes, feel free to ask. Cheers and thanks. :) -- ObsidinSoul 18:57, 30 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
