Grand Theft Auto V is an open world, action-adventure video game developed by Rockstar North and published by Rockstar Games. It was released on 17 September 2013 for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, and is scheduled to be released in Q3/Q4 2014 for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. The game is the first main entry in the Grand Theft Auto series since 2008's Grand Theft Auto IV. Set within the fictional state of San Andreas (based on Southern California), the single-player story follows three criminals and their efforts to commit heists, with the game's use of three lead protagonists representing a break from series tradition. Either in a single player or an online multiplayer mode, players can freely roam the open world of San Andreas, which includes rural environments and the fictional city of Los Santos (based on Los Angeles). Upon release, Grand Theft Auto V was critically acclaimed, drawing praise for its open world design and technical capabilities, and broke industry sales records, becoming the fastest-selling entertainment product in history, earning US $800 million in its first day and US $1 billion its first three days.   • Oppose While I appreciate the recognition of getting this to featured article so quickly, I brought this up at WT:VG and because a re-release of the game is due out in the same time-frame, the article runs the risk of being unstable around the time it appears as TFA. While I'd love to have my work featured, I just think it might be better to hold off for another year. CR4ZE (t • c) 03:58, 12 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Fair enough. I recognised the risk of instability but I seem to remember a Zelda article ran as TFA close to its rereleases and it did fine. The one year anniversary is a big one to miss! But I understand your reasoning. Autonova (talk) 08:52, 12 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose. This is such a recent release that got huge amounts of attention from people. It's not like people have forgotten about the game. It should run in 5-10 years when memory of the game is fading. Also, there's much more worthy video game articles to run, for older games which are more historically important. Such as System Shock that I nominated below. I sort of think that there should be no recent media articles to be featured, and that media should be at least 5 years old first.

And also oppose because it would run too close to the System Shock article on the 22nd, which I think should run instead. --Harizotoh9 (talk) 09:24, 12 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]
