[edit]

Hello:

Greetings.

I have been working for a few months to put together a Wiki page on noted human rights activist, educator and writer Dr. Partha Banerjee, and I believe I've come to a point where the page meets all the standards and rules, and hopefully, this time it will be approved by Wiki editors.

However, the last bit of help I need is with the Reference section. I have footnoted all the references in the main body of the page, but I'm not sure how to put the reference titles in the Reference section, and then link them with the links. Right now, the links are sitting there as is in the Reference section.

I hope I have been clear with my question. Please help me out.

Thank you so much for your kind help.

Is it ok to add a photo to my page? If so, how do I? Rsooch (talk) 08:18, 14 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

@Rsooch: If there is a photo that you personally took or a photo that has been released under a free license (as described at Commons:Licensing) you can upload it to Wikimedia Commons. If it's a photo that you found on the internet or a photograph that you do not have permission to release under a free license you should not add it to Wikipedia. --Ahecht (TALK

The article was submitted for review, but I have this warning above the page:

This sandbox is in the Draft namespace. Either move this page into your userspace, or remove the {{User sandbox}} template.

Is this something to worry about?

Hendenburg (talk) 16:11, 14 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

@Hendenburg: No. The coding used in that template creates that text when a sandbox is moved out of the user namespace. I removed it. Chris Troutman (talk) 16:42, 14 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, an article I submitted has been recently accepted. Although I will attempt to improve it later, I wish first of all to submit additional articles. Can I safely delete the contents of my Sandbox, so I can start again? Regards D1ofBerks (talk) 17:15, 14 January 2015 (UTC) D1ofBerks (talk) 17:15, 14 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Hello D1ofBerks, yes, you are free to empty your Sandbox if you like. That said, note you can make as many "sandbox" pages as you like. Just create any article that starts with "User:D1ofBerks/", click "create page" and you can draft there. For example, User:D1ofBerks/Left-handed pasta fork. If you were to click that, you could create a Draft page there, and then just put the {{AFC submission}} template at top to mark it as a review draft (it'll automatically be in "not ready for review" mode) and click the "Submit" button on that box to submit it when ready for review.
Or, if you are confident you can create pages that no longer need review before publishing, you can create a page in your Userspace, work on it for a bit, and when ready use the "Move" tab at the top of the page to move it to Articlespace, "publishing" it on your own. Just be advised that New Page Patrol looks over all new pages and deletes ones that don't measure up, so stick to AFC until you're confident you have Notability, Sourcing, etc. figured out. @Mgmtsoundbyte: Articles in The Source and Vibe are impressive but I'm not sure it's enough for general notability. Chris Troutman (talk) 19:46, 14 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]
