05:18, 25 June 2023 review of submission by EdrianJustine

[edit]

I have been working on this draft for months, and I would like to ask for advice on how it can be improved so that it can be moved to the article space sooner. I believe that the article has increased in quality since it was last declined on 30 April 2023, and may or may not pass WP:GNG. Regardless, I would like your input on this draft so that it can be improved further. Some sources used on these page are from publications recommended by Wikipedia:WikiProject Korea via WP:KO/RS, and many more used in Philippine-based articles.

The draft was last declined on 22 March 2023, my bad. EdrianJustine (talk) 05:23, 25 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

11:32, 25 June 2023 review of submission by Michael L Little

[edit]

Hello this is my first time trying to have a page approved, This was declined, but kindly supported to ask questions here. any help would be wonderful. declined reason below:

The content of this submission includes material that does not meet Wikipedia's minimum standard for inline citations. Please cite your sources using footnotes. For instructions on how to do this, please see Referencing for beginners. Thank you. Michael L Little (talk) 11:32, 25 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Michael L Little I've fixed your draft link. What is your question? 331dot (talk) 11:35, 25 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you, This is my first time creating an article, I wanted support on how to fix the errors to enable me to ask for submission approval again. Any support would be wonderful. Thank you Michael L Little (talk) 11:38, 25 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
What support is it that you want? You have been told what the reason for the decline is. Do you have specific questions about that? Please read the links in the decline message. 331dot (talk) 11:42, 25 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you, yes, I have read the reasons why the article was declined, the user who declined sited, a friendly area to ask for additional support to rectify this. I am afraid i am not fully knowledgeable how to cite sources using footnotes, I have read the beginners instructions re referring but having disability i am struggling to fix. I was requesting some more support in how to do this. Michael L Little (talk) 11:45, 25 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
What is your relationship or connection with Megan?
You only offer one footnote, and it is a link to another Wikipedia article. Wikipedia articles cannot be used to cite other Wikipedia articles(see WP:CIRCULAR). If you just meant to link to another article, that is done by placing the title of the target article in double brackets like this [[Joe Biden]] displays as Joe Biden. Per the biographies of living persons policy all substantive information in an article must have an inline citation to a reliable source. We can't do this for you. It appears that you have gone about creating an article backwards- see WP:BACKWARD- in that you wrote a text and now need to find sources to support it. That should occur the other way around- you should first find the sources and then summarize what they say. 331dot (talk) 11:54, 25 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
thank you, I feel this is a little over my head. In response to your question. I am a fan of the show, i have been for a while. I am not in work at the moment due to reasons, I must say i am autistic and apologise if i do not use the correct process for creating a page. I am wondering if i should leave this for now. I do not want to do it the wrong way. I enjoy spending time on my computer and wanted to try to submit an article. This was my choice of subject Michael L Little (talk) 12:00, 25 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Most of it you actually have done pretty well, the main issue is that you lack references. I would suggest that you ask someone to aid you in understanding the instructions at your end(though you should still be the one sitting at the computer/holding the device typing), or ask that someone create an account and put the references for you.
There is no deadline for the draft submission process; the only time restriction is that inactive drafts are marked for deletion after six months of inactivity. You may take all the time that you need. 331dot (talk) 12:03, 25 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
thank you, i really appreciate your support. Michael L Little (talk) 12:12, 25 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
If your disability makes it difficult for you to contribute, perhaps someone can aid you by creating their own account for themselves and helping you. 331dot (talk) 11:56, 25 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I now see that you just improperly claimed an image as your own work- this is why I thought you had a connection. I see that has been remedied. Thanks 331dot (talk) 11:59, 25 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
thank you i will see if i can find someone to help. Based on your advice Michael L Little (talk) 12:00, 25 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

12:30, 25 June 2023 review of submission by Weirdperson549

[edit]

Why did my page get rejected? My page called Nexify (platform) got rejected. I don’t understand why and what can I do to make it suitable here? Weirdperson549 (talk) 12:30, 25 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Weirdperson549 I've fixed your posting, you had a statement where the title of your draft should have been. Rejection means that your draft may not be resubmitted, so there is nothing that you can do. Wikipedia is not a place to merely tell about the existence of a company and what it does. Any article about a company must summarize what independent reliable sources with significant coverage have chosen on their own to say about the company, showing how it meets the special Wikipedia definition of a notable company. 331dot (talk) 12:35, 25 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Hi @Weirdperson549. Your draft was deleted due to unambiguous advertising. Please see: Wikipedia:PROMOTION. Wikipedia is an encyclopaedia, not an advertising platform, directory, or a way to promote a business. Only organisations that meet the Wikipedia:Notability (organizations and companies) threshold can have an article. Qcne (talk) 12:36, 25 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Ok. Weirdperson549 (talk) 12:40, 25 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

13:35, 25 June 2023 review of submission by Simsoria

[edit]

Is Yahoo Finance, Business Insider, Bloomberg, and Digital Journal are reliable sources to get my article published? Simsoria (talk) 13:35, 25 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

What is your connection with this person?
The sources will depend on their content. You will probably need to rewrite the draft to summarize the sources, see WP:BACKWARD. 331dot (talk) 13:38, 25 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
This is the reason I got declined.
This submission's references do not show that the subject qualifies for a Wikipedia article—that is, they do not show significant coverage (not just passing mentions) about the subject in published, reliable, secondary sources that are independent of the subject (see the guidelines on the notability of people).
May I ask, what should I do? Simsoria (talk) 13:48, 25 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Simsoria You have gone about this backwards- see the link I provided in my last post. You wrote a text and are looking for sources to support it- you need to first find the sources and then summarize them. An article about a person must summarize what independent reliable sources with significant coverage choose on their own to say about the person and what makes them important/significant/influential- showing how they meet the special Wikipedia definition of a notable person. If you provide the sources here we can tell you more about them.
Again, what is your connection with this person? 331dot (talk) 13:57, 25 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
You have are zero independent reliable sources there, so zero chance of being accepted. Theroadislong (talk) 13:58, 25 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Digital Journal is not a reliable source as the editorial control on articles is unclear. Ca talk to me! 14:29, 25 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

14:42, 25 June 2023 review of submission by 45.30.135.138

[edit]

What sources in the bio do you suggest? What references for the books other than reviews with links provided do you need 45.30.135.138 (talk) 14:42, 25 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Reviews of her books would show that her books are notable, but not necessarily her herself. There needs to be coverage of her personally in independent reliable sources, not just her work. Almost all the sources used in the draft are associated with her in some way, and as such are not independent. 331dot (talk) 14:47, 25 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

17:29, 25 June 2023 review of submission by Allucard69

[edit]

Can you tell me why isn’t? Allucard69 (talk) 17:29, 25 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Your question makes no sense, but your draft was rejected so it will not be considered further, I reverted your further submission which is pointless and disruptive. Theroadislong (talk) 17:45, 25 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

17:56, 25 June 2023 review of submission by Harilal.rajeev

[edit]

cite sources using footnotes errors... Harilal.rajeev (talk) 17:56, 25 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hi @Harilal.rajeev. You don't ask a question. Your article was declined because you don't have any in-line citations- all your citations appear at the end of one sentence. Instead, every statement should be immediately followed by the relevant citation. If you aren't sure how to do this, please see Referencing for beginners. If you don't fix this your article may be rejected. Hope that helps, Qcne (talk) 20:47, 25 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
