Collaboration nominees[edit]

1980s in Hong Kong[edit]

Another important period of the Hong Kong history, featuring the vast improvement in the economy of Hong Kong after it picked up its track in developing into a financial centre. Why not improving this article then, just like we did for 1970s and 1990s?

Edison Chen[edit]

An article that has undergone quite a few changes. A once fairly popular Hong Kong singer and actor. Article was recently re-started because of a copyright violation. Now appears to be scattered and rather un-organized.

Hong Kong Golden Forum[edit]

Apparently the Hong Kong Golden Forum is one of the biggest Hong Kong-based internet forums. Named after the Golden Computer Arcade in Sham Shui Po, Hong Kong. This article has already undergone 2 AfD's, a 3rd one will be its' last. Surely such a notable internet forum has more information than what is currently there.

  1. Deryck C. 09:26, 16 January 2007 (UTC) - it represents the online culture of Hong Kong, being the biggest online-offline cross-community in Hong Kong parallel to Wikipedia.
  2. Sydneyfong 09:57, 23 February 2007 (UTC) Not a particularly pleasant nor mannered Hong Kong internet culture, but a mainstream and popular one to say the least. I haven't visited the wiki article before, and upon viewing I'm surprised at the lack of information.

Li Ching[edit]

Li Ching is an important athlete in Hong Kong. The Li Ching article is only stub class on both Wikiproject Biography and Wikiproject Hong Kong. A infobox is needed and needed to translate from Chinese to English, which is requested on the article page. Jacklau96 07:53, 7 January 2007 (UTC)

The Peninsula Hong Kong[edit]

Article is only stub class only. Very minimal information. Could benefit from such a collaborated effort. Article has already been tagged by several article improvement tags.

  • Not just a famous hotel, but a historic landmark as well. Article should definitely be expanded and it needs lots of copy-editing as well. Hong Qi Gong (Talk - Contribs) 07:39, 14 January 2007 (UTC)
  • I had tried to expand the list of the popular culture.Shrimp wong 17:29, 7 May 2007 (UTC)
  • Article is too short for such a famous hotel. Hydrogen Iodide 06:50, 20 May 2007 (UTC)

Po Leung Kuk[edit]

Po Leung Kuk is an important institution in Hong Kong, but it is a stub.

  • The Po Leung Kuk had made significant contribution to the early development of education and orphanage service to the very early British colony of Hong Kong.Narold 07:15, 23 July 2007 (UTC)

The Bus Uncle[edit]

The Bus Uncle is a important event in Hong Kong. As we said in the talk page, we should improve it and make it to the FA.

  • In fact, I'm improving the article right now as we speak.--Kylohk 10:16, 16 April 2007 (UTC)

From a western point of view,

I understand the frustration of both.

This Bus Uncle is not a simple event to protest busy conditions in Hong Kong.

It is a global phenomena.

In the U.S. and Europe, disrespect began after the second world war - Asia held firm on traditional values.

The "Bus Uncle" shows that disrespect has infected Hong Kong.

I was born in 1953. When I was a child, my parents and elders insisted on respect. I believed my actions showed others how much I respected not only myself, but also my parents and siblings.

I didn't want my parents to think bad of me. I wanted them to respect me.

Tney did. I did.

Today, I know that my job performance can improve my families quality of life. I want my children to have a better life. So I work every day and make sure my boys go to school - study their assignments and perform well on tests so they can have a better future.

My boys know they are defeated when their only choice is attack. My boys know their actions speak for me. Tney understand restraint.

Bus Uncle is contrary but a good lesson to teach respect.

Reasons Nominated here after closing an afd on the subject as keep, article has multiple cleanup tags. Notability has been establish through article content is dependent on primary sources for much of the information. First publicly listed company to come thru a program between HK uni and HK Government, multiple award winner. IMHO it may not survive at DRV as pure numbers in afd were for deletion without a concerted effort to source and cleanup the article. Gnangarra 03:26, 7 September 2007 (UTC)

  • The Indian Wikipedians have been doing good jobs for the articles with title "_____ of India". Those articles give very good introductions about different aspects of India. A lot of those articles have already gained "featured" status. I hope all Hong Kong Wikipedians can learn from their experience, and improve the articles with title "_____ of Hong Kong". We may use the "Geography of India" article as a reference. - Alanmak 05:03, 21 October 2005 (UTC)
  • Is this a FA attempt? --Deryck C. 10:02, 25 January 2007 (UTC)
  • An article should be update for more infomatino.--Burning Flame 00:46, 16 April 2006 (UTC)
  • Still needs some work due to the a list-type structure. Hydrogen Iodide 06:57, 20 May 2007 (UTC)
