Rob Douglas is a New Zealand politician, representing ACT New Zealand as a Member of Parliament since the 2023 New Zealand general election.

Early life[edit]

Douglas was born and educated in Hawke's Bay on a farm south of Havelock North. He has three daughters with his wife Mel. He owns his own property valuation business.[1]

At the 2023 election Douglas was the ACT New Zealand candidate for the Tukituki electorate. He is the nephew of ACT's founder Roger Douglas, who would not guarantee the party his support to the party he founded in the 2023 election.[1] Despite standing in Tukituki, he attended a livestreamed candidates debate for the neighbouring Napier electorate co-hosted by the New Zealand Taxpayers' Union and the Working Group podcast hosted by left-wing blogger Martyn "Bomber" Bradbury on behalf of ACT.[2]
