Welcome to WikiProject Wight. This project draws together editors working on all Isle of Wight-related articles, with the aim of improving and expanding all aspects of coverage. There are many articles to deal with, from local newspapers to landmarks and sports teams. Please join us to help these articles become amongst the best on Wikipedia.

Requesting an assessment[edit]

In most cases, if you think an article needs to be assessed, be bold and assess it. If you have not assessed articles before or wish to refresh your memory, have a look at our assessment criteria and the Talk Page template.

However, if you have made significant changes to an article and would like an outside opinion on a new rating for it please leave a note on our Assessment request page - brief directions can also be found there.

  • Ryde depot - much more here than there used to be. I (Peeky44) reckon C-class but that might not be objective.
  • Brighstone - lot more added and plenty of references. Might need to go up from stub. Xhavnak (talk) 09:51, 18 July 2011 (UTC)
  • A3055 road - I have substantially added to this article, trying to document the Undercliff Drive landslip fiasco. I have upgraded it from Start-class to C-Class, but it may even warrant higher than that. --Peeky44 What's on your mind? 22:47, 9 May 2016 (UTC)

For further details on our assessment process please go to our assessment page.

 NA  This page does not require a rating on the project's quality scale.

Add this template to your User page to indicate membership of the Isle of Wight project, using this code:

Add this template for a link to the Isle of Wight Portal.

  • We should be using "the island" as opposed to "the Island" as that's a local colloquialism.

To do[edit]

Articles to be created[edit]

To mark a potential article as 'needed' please go to [[Talk:Name of the needed article]] and place the following code:

{{WikiProject Wight|class=needed}} {{go away}}

The WikiProject template will add it to the list of needed articles. The Go Away template will prevent it being accidentally deleted by a bot under WP:Criteria for Speedy Deletion#G8.

It is preferred, if possible, to actually create a stub rather than just mark a page as needed. However, if you can see a need for an article but do not have the knowledge or sources to write even a dictionary-style definition, mark it as needed.
