Midori Fujita
[edit]Hello, while reading this article (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yasuke) on Yasuke, I noticed that Midori Fujita, a historian who seems to be a very commonly-cited source on the history of Black Africans and their perception throughout Japan's history, is a red link. I looked into possibly drafting a page for her, but as her only book is in Japanese, which I don't know, and no English sources detailing her career seem to exist, I wasn't able to find enough information to do so. If anyone knows Japanese and can research or already has references or information on her, it would be great to get a page created.
Scope of "Women in [field]" categories?
[edit]Hi! I am editing a page for someone (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Johanna_Brewer) who identifies as nonbinary (they/them pronouns), and I noticed their page was tagged with the categories American women academics and American women computer scientists. Some nonbinary individuals would feel comfortable with such categorization, but not all. If the purpose of these categories is to recognize individuals whose gender makes them underrepresented in the field, I think they should be inclusive of nonbinary folks, but I was not able to find any documentation on wikipedia making it clear that gender minority inclusivity is the intention of the category (if indeed that is true). Where can I go or what I can do to bring about such changes? Thanks!
Edited to add: I found some discussion of this issue back in 2017 here, but it looks like nothing really came of it. I think it should be revisited.

Fair Play for Women
[edit]An editor keeps changing things at Fair Play for Women in a way that does not strike me as neutral. They are putting undue weight on the group being called transphobic and removing mention that the group campaign for sex-based policies for women. WikiProject Women is listed on the article's talk page, so can anyone here help? Abbyjjjj96 (talk) 14:29, 7 June 2021 (UTC)
Jeanne Pouchain: alive but "dead"
[edit]Wandered across tale of Jeanne Pouchain, who is still alive but five years ago was declared dead by a court of France and she has since been trapped in a Kafkaesque limbo of trying to prove she is still alive. Anyone else want Wikipedia to have a Jeanne Pouchain article, perhaps adding to the visibility of her quest??? (her bank account(s) were closed, her application for passport was refused, no access to health care system (i guess paying cash is workaround), driving license is cancelled, and with no valid id can't legally leave her house during Covid lockdowns.) --EarthFurst (talk) 20:02, 5 July 2021 (UTC)
Mary Knight Benson
[edit]The Mary Knight Benson article has been on Wikipedia since 19 December 2018 when I created it. I do believe it fits within the scope of this project. Perhaps you might peruse and consider the article for inclusion. Most kind regards,Hu Nhu (talk) 04:53, 12 August 2021 (UTC)
Marilù Parolini
[edit]Requesting quality assessment for Marilù Parolini from this wikiproject. I think she's fascinating, so encouragement to any French or Italian speakers to find more content.--97.113.235.15 (talk) 04:10, 15 December 2021 (UTC)
Celia Perkins
[edit]I recently wrote an article about Ms Celia Perkins, a Deputy Secretary of the Department of Defence (Australia), having heard that articles on notable women are wanted. Admittedly, I used as a base her official profile/bio but with additions of material I knew and could reference. It was promptly taken down by an Administrator. Perhaps another Administrator -- a woman -- could reinstate the article and give it more than a few hours to have people improve it beyond the "bio"-base. For consideration.- Peter Ellis - Talk 04:02, 14 April 2022 (UTC)
- It was deleted for being a blatant advert/promo and copyright violations, and nothing to do with gender bias in Wikipedia. I am also not sure who did you guess that the admin was not a woman as they did not disclose this information.
- Anyway, if you disagree you can request the article to be "draftified" also with copyvio that won't be possible FuzzyMagma (talk) 10:19, 20 August 2023 (UTC)
Peggy Pettit
[edit]I'd like to call WPW's attention to Peggy Pettit, whose article needs work. I've placed a few maintenance tags for guidance. Since she's African-American, maybe Black WP might also be able to help. Just Another Cringy Username (talk) 02:42, 28 July 2022 (UTC)
Nina L. Diaz
[edit]Hi editors, as part of my work for Beutler Ink, I've made a request to update and expand the Career section of the Nina L. Diaz article editors here may find of interest. Thanks in advance for any feedback you can offer. Cheers, BINK Robin (talk) 17:31, 12 August 2024 (UTC)
