TFA blurb review

[edit]

Bernard Hinault (born 14 November 1954) is a former professional cyclist from France. With a large number of victories, including five in the Tour de France, he is often named among the greatest cyclists of all time. Hinault started cycling as an amateur in his native Brittany before turning professional in 1975. In 1978, he won his first two Grand Tours: the Vuelta a España and the Tour de France. He won the 1979 Tour de France and the 1980 Giro d'Italia. He added another Tour victory in 1981, and in 1982 won both the Tour and the Giro d'Italia. After a win in the 1983 Vuelta a España, knee problems forced him to miss that year's Tour de France, won by his teammate Laurent Fignon. In 1985 he won both the Giro and Tour for a final time; he remains the most recent French winner of the Tour de France. Throughout his career, Hinault was known by the nickname le blaireau, or "badger", for his aggressive racing. (Full article...)
