Notes
[edit]- Leave notes down here, please.
9 July Oceanic whitetip shark blurb
- I have changed the link at "gestation period". It was piped to Pregnancy (mammals)#Gestation periods but sharks are fish not mammals. I have piped instead to Pregnancy in fish#Comparison between species.
- Alternatively, the pipe could be to Gestation#Non-mammals. Dank pls swap if that alternative is better.
- Whichever is more correct should be changed in article also?
- I am courtesy pinging Yomangani though they haven't edited since 2020. JennyOz (talk) 10:23, 6 July 2024 (UTC)
- I also boldly pluralised latitudes? JennyOz (talk) 10:23, 6 July 2024 (UTC)
- I don't look as closely at link targets as I should, so it's fantastic that you're doing that. Welcome aboard. - Dank (push to talk) 13:03, 6 July 2024 (UTC)
22 July Thekla (daughter of Theophilos)
Two minor notes re this blurb, neither are serious, just possible triggers of main page errors reports...
- On my reading of "The daughter and eldest of seven children", the use of the definite article implied the other six offspring were all sons. I saw something similar raised on a recent FAC review.
- A fix could be to reword to "A daughter and the eldest of seven children" but I leave it to Dank and noms to determine if a potential problem.JennyOz (talk) 15:26, 19 July 2024 (UTC)
- I see what you're saying. No opinion. Pinging @Unlimitedlead. - Dank (push to talk) 15:43, 19 July 2024 (UTC)
- I do not personally see a reason to amend the extant text, but for clarity's sake, I would not object to a revision should anyone see fit to do so. Unlimitedlead (talk) 16:14, 19 July 2024 (UTC)
- "The eldest of seven children ..." would deal with the objection, but that would put us at 919 characters, so we'd need another word or two. Thoughts? - Dank (push to talk) 16:43, 19 July 2024 (UTC)

- The caption could be prefaced with "solidus"? (I'm not sure our blurb conventions re captions.) ie
- Solidus of Thekla (right) with Michael III JennyOz (talk) 15:26, 19 July 2024 (UTC)
- No opinion on captions, most of the time. Pinging @Ravenpuff. - Dank (push to talk) 15:43, 19 July 2024 (UTC)
- TFA captions are usually kept as short as necessary, but I think that would be an improvement, yes. I might even prefer "coin" instead of "solidus", which avoids us using a potentially unfamiliar word. — RAVENPVFF · talk · 23:15, 19 July 2024 (UTC)
- Oops ... I forgot to make the change, sorry. - Dank (push to talk) 03:23, 22 July 2024 (UTC)
