Here is the information you are looking for: User:MarkS/Extra_edit_buttons Natcolley 13:30, 26 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

In my local installation of Mediawiki(1.9.3) the edit toolbar shows up but is not complete. It is missing all buttons after the signature button. Is there a preference that I need to toggle on? I've searched the web high and low and can't seem to find anything relating to this. From what I can gather, it is supposed to "just work". Thanks for the help!

I am having the same problem. I really need the ability to create tables for the Wiki I am making. Can someone please email me at emaude@mindspring.com and lend a hand? Thanks in advance!

Edit Toolbar Extra Items[edit]

Check out the Extra Toolbar Options Script and copy/paste it into the Mediawiki:Common.js page on your site. It worked for me (1.10.0). However, I can see on Wikipedia that they are not using this script but that the extra toolbar buttons are still available. So don't ask me why ;) Andreas Rindler 17:25, 25 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Can you tell me where the common.js files lives? Thanks!

It's a page on your wiki:

Thanks again but it still didn't seem to work. I even tried stopping and starting Apache to see if that helped. No luck. Any other thoughts?

I edited the common.js perfectly and when "previewing" the changes it seemed ok but the toolbar never showed up while editing any pages ~Anon —Preceding unsigned comment added by 66.233.245.54 (talk) 15:13, 10 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Mediawiki edit toolbar[edit]

This toolbar is now slightly different from the one that is shown here: An insert a reference button is also available on the right now. Shouldn't a new image be used? Chamal talk 03:39, 25 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

IE9 and IE10[edit]

IE9 and IE10 seem to have broken/crippled the ability to discover (and in turn add) search providers. The only way I've found to do it now is via the javascript:

<a href="javascript:window.external.AddSearchProvider('http://en.wikipedia.org/w/opensearch_desc.php');">Add</a>

Is anyone able to add the ability to do this to this article or the search page? --Dee Earley (talk) 16:50, 2 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Cite button[edit]

I've lost the cite button from the toolbar. I haven't made changes to my preferences and in /preferences/gadgets tab, the relevant tick box for the "cite" button remains ticked. I'm using Firefox 50.1. Has anybody got a clue what's going on? Schwede66 02:29, 2 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

My toolbar has stopped showing up the last couple days[edit]

Is there a reason for that? Can I get it back?Kintetsubuffalo (talk) 18:03, 7 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

@Kintetsubuffalo: Do you mean this one? If so, see Wikipedia:Village pump (technical)#Support ends for the 2006 wikitext editor. --Redrose64 🌹 (talk) 16:39, 8 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for getting back to me! That's the one! Kintetsubuffalo (talk) 16:44, 8 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]
