Project started

Alright, with everything out the way the first agenda is to finish tackling the character list and possibly pool together sources, then split off sections that can be developed into full articles, and from there build up on the other games in the series. Other aspects on the table for now:

  • Build upon the character list, and split off any articles currently of high enough notability. Cervantes de Leon is the best candidate currently if it can get sourcing and more reception.
  • Improve all current character articles to GA or higher.
  • The consideration of merging all the soundtrack articles into one discography.
  • Development of articles on persons related to the series, such as Aya Takemura and similar people.
  • Try to make something of the Soul (series) article at the moment...as it stands it's a lot of repetition.

Guest characters

Should we have them fall under the task force? As it stands it's a bit of a tossup: they're related by their appearance, but not really part of the games. A bare minimum might be to develop information in their articles on their introduction with citations, but that could go either way. Any thoughts?--Kung Fu Man (talk) 21:04, 9 September 2009 (UTC)

No,no. Its like saying a guest star on Friends is part of the main cast. GamerPro64 (talk) 02:21, 10 September 2009 (UTC)
Good point, guess this matter is resolved then.--Kung Fu Man (talk) 16:26, 11 September 2009 (UTC)

Started and finished this whole article in a day. Oh and it's up for GAN to boot.--Kung Fu Man (talk) 01:14, 12 September 2009 (UTC)

"Applause"! Holy Crap! How did you even find the obscure machinima? GamerPro64 (talk) 01:40, 12 September 2009 (UTC)
It was actually pretty easy, I ran across it through Google News while looking up stuff for Voldo's article awhile back and it used to be a part of his reception. After seeing a bit on WT:VG about fan works and the viability of them counting towards a character's reception, I checked up on a few other things I'd read about and well just built the article from there.--Kung Fu Man (talk) 01:45, 12 September 2009 (UTC)

Voldo, Talim and Sophitia need ref templates

All three articles are currently using raw references for urls. I'm going to try and finish up Ivy today, so if someone can change the url references to use {{cite web}} that should shave a lot of time off the workload on those three.--Kung Fu Man (talk) 17:45, 12 September 2009 (UTC)

I would do it, but I'm about to start on Soul Caliber. GamerPro64 (talk) 21:19, 12 September 2009 (UTC)

Siegfried. Why isn't there an article for it?

Why isn't there an article for him? If Nightmare has one, why not one for him? GamerPro64 (talk) 00:31, 15 September 2009 (UTC)

There was an issue of reception at the time, and the article's condition. Plus a lot of the reception he had was actually coincident with Nightmare since until 3 they weren't separate. The article's got enough reception here and there all around to revive, just needs the plot info condensed first. And we need to make a lit of what we're planning on reviving too.--Kung Fu Man (talk) 00:35, 15 September 2009 (UTC)

Here's basically how I'm seeing it in terms of revived articles as we go:

Articles good to go after others are tended to
  • Cassandra, Hilde
Articles that can be restored with the reception and stuff added, and/or summary tidied up
  • Mitsurugi, Siegfried, Taki
Possibilities
  • Cervantes, Charade, Kilik, Maxi, Raphael, Seong Mi-na, Xianghua, Algol

Thoughts?--Kung Fu Man (talk) 01:41, 15 September 2009 (UTC)

Update on this: found more sources for Hilde's and Cassandra's development. Cassandra still needs some more reception for me to really be comfortable with putting her back out there.--Kung Fu Man (talk) 02:44, 21 September 2009 (UTC)
What's your opinion on Seong Mi-na? GamerPro64 (talk) 02:55, 21 September 2009 (UTC)
Needs more reception. As it goes the Soularchive website is insanely generous with development information for characters from Soul Edge and Soulcalibur (yet not the later titles), with a great deal of development information available for all of them except Inferno, Lizardman, Yoshimitsu, and to an extent Rock (Is it just me or does nobody really like Rock? They've sorta replaced him twice at this point). Mi-na's a bit light in this regard too, but no moreso than Mitsurugi. I'll put her under possibility pending more reception.--Kung Fu Man (talk) 03:21, 21 September 2009 (UTC)

Legecy section

Should there be a Legecy section in Soulcalibur? GamerPro64 (talk) 01:48, 21 September 2009 (UTC)

I don't think so. It's an excellent game but really for the most part I haven't seen anything attributed to its creation other than the later titles in the series coming about. Reception should suffice in this case.--Kung Fu Man (talk) 02:42, 21 September 2009 (UTC)

Here's the link. GamerPro64 (talk) 02:43, 27 September 2009 (UTC)

Merge this task force

I've proposed a comprehensive cleanup of WP:VG's inactive task forces (which would include merging this task force with some others to form an "action & adventure" task force), if you'll take a look czar  01:58, 6 May 2014 (UTC)
