Yuri Farzunovich Gazzaev (Russian: Юрий Фарзунович Газзаев; born 27 November 1960) is a Russian professional football coach and a former player. Currently he manages FC Spartak Vladikavkaz.

Playing career

As a player, he made his debut in the Soviet First League in 1978 for FC Spartak Ordzhonikidze.[1]

He signed for Chamois Niortais F.C. on a fake paperwork, pretending he was 9 years younger than he actually was (his birth year was changed from 1960 to 1969). He was released a few months later after the fraud was discovered.

Personal life

He is a cousin of Valery Gazzaev. His son Ruslan Gazzayev is now a professional footballer.
