Zakaria Yehya Charara (Arabic: زكريا شرارة) (born 1 January 1986 in Beirut) is Lebanese football player who currently plays as a midfielder for Al-Nejmeh.

Career

Charara started his youth career with Nejmeh SC before he was promoted to the first team and he used to wear the number 9. He broke into the Lebanese national teams in 1999 with the Youth national team before he joined Lebanon in 2008 where he wears number 9 as well. He made an impressive performance last season by leading Nejmeh to win the Lebanese Premier League title. After disputes with Nejmeh, he decided to move to Jordan's Al-Karmel where he played couple of matches. Recently and during the summer transfers, he moved to Al-Shabab where he currently wears number 9 shirt.

In August 2011 he signed with Cypriot First Division side Ermis Aradippou for the 2011–12 season. He debuted for Ermis in a 0-0 draw against Ethnikos Achna on 10 September.[1]

After a successful trial, Zakaria officially joined the 2011 Malaysia Super League champion and 2011 FA Cup Runners-Up, Kelantan FA on 6 December 2011, signing a 2-year contract with the club. The club is located in East Coast of Malaysia and will be playing in the 2012 AFC Cup.[2][3]

However, due to the lack of playing time with Kelantan, Zakaria and team mate, Emmanuel Okine went on a loan until the rest of the season to another Malaysian Super League side which is Kuala Lumpur FA.[4][5] He scored his first league goal for Kuala Lumpur, converting a penalty in a 1-1 draw with Sarawak FA on 5 May 2012.[6]

After the 2012 Malaysia Super League season ends, Zakaria decided to left the team and joins Al-Nejmeh. He makes debut on 29 September 2012 against Shabab Al-Ghazieh.
