Your account has been indefinitely blocked from editing because your account has been used for advertising or promotion, which is contrary to the purpose of Wikipedia. Also, your username indicates that the account represents a business, organisation, group, or web site, which is against the username policy.

If you intend to make useful contributions instead of promoting your business or organization, you may request unblock and a username change. In your reasons, you must:

  • Disclose any compensation you may receive for your contributions in accordance with the paid-contribution disclosure requirement.
  • Convince us that you understand the reason for your block and that you will not repeat the kind of edits for which you were blocked.
  • Describe in general terms the contributions that you intend to make if you are unblocked.
  • Provide a new username.

To do this, post the text {{unblock-spamun|Your proposed new username|Your reason here}} at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your proposed new username" with your new username and replace the text "Your reason here" with your reasons to be unblocked.

Please note that the new username you choose cannot already be taken and in use by another account. You can go here to search and see if the username you'd like to choose is available. If the search returns that no global account with that username exists, that means it is available to be taken.

Appeals: If, after reviewing the guide to appealing blocks, you believe this block was made in error, you may appeal it by adding the text {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}} at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your reason here" with the reasons you believe the block was an error, and publish the page. UtherSRG (talk) 10:55, 7 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Requested username:

Request reason:

All the changes I have made are based on the facts stated in the book "In the Name of a Father" written by the Blue Tree Foundation founder and the interviews of the founder himself. I have not written any sentence that are tended to promote or advertise the organization itself, rather I have added information that are only currently available in Korean, and have contributed by translating them into English. If my appeal is still not enough to unblock the changes, I would like to ask for specific reasons, phrases, or examples of my edits that are considered to be inappropriate. Thank you. Official BTF (talk) 01:37, 9 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Decline reason:

Your current username suggests you represent or work for the Blue Tree Foundation. Please read conflict of interest and paid editing and detail your connection to the organization and tell us what will be different about your editing going forward in a new request, I am declining this one. 331dot (talk) 08:26, 9 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Requested username:

Request reason:
I was blocked for two reasons regarding the edit of the page 'Kim Jong-ki': for having a promotional username and making promotional edits. For having a 'promotional username', it was a short thought of mine that username should seem 'legitimate'. I simply thought that the edits I make would seem more plausible if it was made by and 'official' username, but I now completely understand that this is totally opposite of why Wikipedia exists. Wikipedia was made to allow everyone to contribute to share knowledge, therefore being 'official' is unnecessary and is rather considered 'promotional'. This is my first time attempting to contribute as an editor, and was not knowledgeable about the username policy. Hence the reason I asked for 'myunghn' as a new username for my past appeal, which I ALSO later found out that you should never ever use username similar to your real name. I apologize for not looking into it beforehand. In regards the 'promotional edits', Blue Tree Foundation (which Kim Jong-ki is the founder of) is an NGO in South Korea, which I have volunteered for several times in the past and where I currently make my monthly donations, however am not an employee of. I wanted to contribute to the 'Kim Jong-ki' page because I have recently read his biography and was very touched by it. I wanted his efforts toward school violence in Korea to be more well known globally, but I guess I was too passionate about it, by unknowingly adding in some adjectives that could be thought as promotional edits. I have been asked to state 'what will be different about my editing', therefore l promise to look back on the edits I have made for 'Kim Jong-ki' page and remove all the unnecessary adjectives or phrases that are excessive to the truth. Also, I will specifically state which page/part of an interview or of the book it is from to reference specifically. I want to further contribute to Wikipedia pages related to South Korea (based only on facts) to share knowledge that are currently only available in Korean to global viewers. I would also like a <Username change: purpleS2> for further contributions and promise to be careful of the edits I make, to keep a neutral view and opinion on all pages.

Administrators should consider discussing any unblock with the blocking administrator (see the blocking policy).

Request reason:

Hello, I haven't heard back from the appeal I have made above, and was wondering if the appeal is going under the proper process. I would be happy to hear back from the administrators soon, thank you!

Decline reason:

Only one open unblock request at a time, please. Yours is only one of many others in a long queue of requests. Admins that evaluate them are volunteers like everyone else, so it may take several weeks for your request to be reviewed. In the meantime, there is nothing left for you to do except patiently wait your turn, however long it takes. --Drm310 🍁 (talk) 06:20, 28 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

@Drm310: I apologize if it seemed rude! I am aware the administrators are all volunteers, and am also aware of the long queue of unblock requests. This is my first time going through this process, so I wasn't sure if the process is ongoing as long as my username is listed in 'Category:Requests for unblock'. Thank you for the kind explanation and I will patiently wait my turn now :) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Official BTF (talkcontribs)

Daniel Case, Drm310, I don't mind granting the unblock request, but what's happening with the name? That's not a thing I know how to do. Thanks, Drmies (talk) 21:40, 5 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
