File copyright problem with File:Richard prince.jpg

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their license and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link.

Image copyright problem with File:Label-sculpture-net.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading File:Label-sculpture-net.jpg. The image has been identified as not specifying the copyright status of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. Even if you created the image yourself, you still need to release it so Wikipedia can use it. If you don't indicate the copyright status of the image on the image's description page, using an appropriate copyright tag, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you made this image yourself, you can use copyright tags like {{PD-self}} (to release all rights), {{self|CC-by-sa-3.0|GFDL}}
(to require that you be credited), or any tag here - just go to the image, click edit, and add one of those. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided copyright information for them as well.
For more information on using images, see the following pages:
This is an automated notice by STBotI. For assistance on the image use policy, see Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. STBotI (talk) 15:53, 26 January 2009 (UTC)
Photo credits
[edit]Adding useful images to articles is always greatly appreciated, and thanks for your work, but the photographer shouldn't be credited in the image's caption (as per Wikipedia:Captions#Credits). Users can simply click on any image to see the full details of its creator or copyright holder. --McGeddon (talk) 20:28, 3 May 2009 (UTC)
NowCommons: File:Cycle brothel.jpg
[edit]File:Cycle brothel.jpg is now available on Wikimedia Commons as Commons:File:Korea-Itaewon-A foreigner on a motorcycle on a hill-01.jpg. This is a repository of free media that can be used on all Wikimedia wikis. The image will be deleted from Wikipedia, but this doesn't mean it can't be used anymore. You can embed an image uploaded to Commons like you would an image uploaded to Wikipedia, in this case: [[File:Korea-Itaewon-A foreigner on a motorcycle on a hill-01.jpg]]. Nodding out.jpg
[edit]Dear Drpaluga
This is a touching and moving photograph. I do not mean to be insensitive... but for the purposes of wikipedia, it is important to have as much independent confirmation of any facts stated on the site, especially those that might be controversial. To be short, I am wondering if there is any secondary confirmation that the person in that photograph is, in fact, using heroin? Is the photo published in some reputable source such as a medical journal or investigative journalism report? I personally am not going to do anything other than add a 'citation needed', but others might want more evidence. This is especially true since the picture shows someone's tattoo, and personal jewlery, which could be used as an identifying markers possibly, even though the person's face is covered. Thank you for uploading it and Thank you for reading. Decora (talk) 16:16, 27 October 2009 (UTC)
(edit 2009 dec, changed 'addicted to heroin' to 'using heroin', per complaint by User:91.121.161.24)Decora (talk) 05:55, 20 December 2009 (UTC)
File:Nodding_out.jpg listed for deletion
[edit]An image or media file that you uploaded or altered, File:Nodding_out.jpg, has been listed at Wikipedia:Files for deletion. Please see the discussion to see why this is (you may have to search for the title of the image to find its entry), if you are interested in it not being deleted. Thank you. Decora (talk) 06:42, 20 December 2009 (UTC)
Its been a while but... no activity here... I nominated for deletion because although it is a great photograph, we have no confirmation that this person is using heroin except for the author's word. I hate to discourage contributors... but wikipedia has to be worried about accuracy and libel and stuff. Until there is some kind of reliable secondary confirmation of this picture... it doesn't seem to me like we should really put it in the Heroin article. Sorry.Decora (talk) 06:44, 20 December 2009 (UTC)

File permission problem with File:Pulitzer ms.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading File:Pulitzer ms.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file agreed to license it under the given license.
If you created this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either
- make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
- Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-enwikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.
If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-enwikimedia.org.
If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Problems with upload of File:Pedal power.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading File:Pedal power.jpg. You don't seem to have said where the image came from, who created it, or what the copyright status is. Speedy deletion nomination of File:Harmony korine.jpg
[edit]A tag has been placed on File:Harmony korine.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F9 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the image appears to be a blatant copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted images or text borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, contest the deletion by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". Doing so will take you to the talk page where you will find a pre-formatted place for you to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Proposed deletion of File:Nathaniel Paluga, Principle Philosopher - Philosopher's Way San Francisco.jpg
[edit]The file File:Nathaniel Paluga, Principle Philosopher - Philosopher's Way San Francisco.jpg has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
Unused personal photo. Out of scope.
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated files}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the file's talk page.
Please consider addressing the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated files}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and files for discussion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. --Minorax«¦talk¦» 06:48, 24 July 2022 (UTC)

Image source problem with File:Bodhidarma float.jpg
[edit]Thank you for uploading File:Bodhidarma float.jpg.
This image is a derivative work, containing an "image within an image". Examples of such images would include a photograph of a sculpture, a scan of a magazine cover, or a screenshot of a computer game or movie. In each of these cases, the rights of the creator of the original image must be considered, as well as those of the creator of the derivative work.
While the description page states who made this derivative work, it currently doesn't specify who created the original work, so the overall copyright status is unclear. If you did not create the original work depicted in this image, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright.
If you have uploaded other derivative works, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described in section F4 of the criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 20:57, 3 March 2024 (UTC). If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. --TheImaCow (talk) 20:57, 3 March 2024 (UTC)
