Image copyright problem with Image:MaidstoneChurch.jpg[edit]

Image Copyright problem
Image Copyright problem

Thank you for uploading Image:MaidstoneChurch.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the image. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. STBotI 23:40, 11 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Images in infoboxes[edit]

Hi, firstly, your efforts are noticed and appreciated especially with regard to the Kororoit Creek Trail and related wildlife topics. However the images in suburb infoboxes - I clicked a few randomly and one was taken in Western Australia and the other in a zoo in Washington DC. The image section is meant to be only for images taken of the local area. However, if you have a mobile phone camera or a normal digital camera and are in the area, we'd be really happy if you took some shots of the Kororoit Creek area and upload them to Wikipedia - those could then be used in the suburb articles and would be a fantastic addition. Thanks, Orderinchaos 00:55, 28 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Joyce, please note what Orderinchaos has tried to explain above and please stop adding generic animal picture to suburb infoboxes. This is disruptive and we are having to waste time going around behind you cleaning them up. If you continue doing this, I will have to block you. If you don't understand or you have questions, please ask them and we will try to help you but what you are doing is disrupting the project. Sarah 03:14, 28 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hi there - just noticed that when you are editing, you make dozens of uncommented edits in a short time. To help you (and your fellow Wikipedians), I would recommend that you 1) start adding more detailed edit summaries, and also make more use of the "show preview" button - this way, the page history doesn't get cluttered up with dozens of small edits. Thanks! Tanthalas39 (talk) 23:33, 30 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Adding references[edit]

I see you are starting to add references to your addtions in articles such as St Leonards, Victoria. The correct formatiing for references is to add <ref>www.reference.org</ref> at the end of the statement where a reference is needed. You can find details on how use the tags at Help:Footnotes. Let me know if you need a hand. -- Mattinbgn\talk 01:44, 2 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Regarding edits to Maidstone, Albion and a number of other western suburbs articles, be careful with how you present the references from newspapers. For example saying an article is entitled "Melton crime rise" or "Albion price rise" gives the assertion a seeming headline credibility which checking the article does not bring out:
  • House prices - The title was "Home prices soar on city fringe" and included suburbs in Dandenong, Casey and others, and didn't mention Albion and only bynoted Maidstone in a table.
  • Crime rate - The title was "Police to reclaim Melbourne's streets" which only mentioned Melton (as in Shire of Melton) in a list of either 7 or 19 municipalities ("Assaults in Melton, Brimbank, Cardinia, Casey, Wyndham, Bayside and Whittlesea have risen by over 50 per cent over the same period"), gave a stat for the municipality ("The western suburbs suffered the worst rise: 589 people were assaulted in the Melton municipality last year, up 99.7 per cent in four years.") and did not mention the suburb.
I know you're trying to add useful data, but a seasoned Wikipedian looking at these edits might be given to think you were acting deceptively, and that's definitely an impression you want to avoid giving. Orderinchaos 03:06, 2 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Bird lists[edit]

Hi Joyceclintonphilip - I appreciate you are trying to help improve various articles about places you may be familiar with. However, inserting small lists of a few common birds you may have seen personally, without any references, is against WP guidelines on original research and notability. Please cite references for information you add. It may help to read through WP guidelines carefully before resuming your editing. Maias (talk) 04:42, 7 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Files missing description details[edit]

Dear uploader: The media files you uploaded as:
