Reason: A well-known example of bird-and-flower painting, a style of Chinese painting that was prominent in the 13th century, (likely) by one of the masters of that style. These types of paintings were popular with the Mongols, who had recently established the Yuan Dynasty, and it was rather subversive of him to include the veiled criticism.

Support ~~Am I crazy or are there no birds or flowers in this?~~ Ok, should have read the caption - I guess it is sarcasm that there are no birds or flowers.
