AMC Cinemas
AMC Cinemas is a cinema company in the United Kingdom, France and Hong Kong. It is a division of AMC Theatres (American Multi-Cinemas) of Kansas City, Missouri, United States.

In the 1980s AMC built and operated a number of multiplex ten-screen cinemas in the UK. One such example was built at Tamworth in Staffordshire, while another opened on 14 October 1988 at the Merry Hill Shopping Centre in the West Midlands.[1]These were subsequently bought and taken over by UCI as AMC temporarily pulled out of the UK market in 1990.
In the early 2000s, the 16-screen AMC Great Northern was opened in Manchester, thereby marking the brand's limited return to the UK. This was later supplemented by the opening of a 12-screen cinema on the new Broadway Plaza site in Birmingham.
