Chonburi (Thai: ชลบุรี; IPA: [tɕʰōn būrīː]) is the capital of Chonburi Province and Mueang Chonburi District in Thailand. It is located about 100km east of Bangkok, on the coast to the Gulf of Thailand. The name means city of water.
Chonburi has had town (thesaban mueang) status since 1935.[1]
A number of beaches and Khao Sam Muk hill located by the Bangkok Bay seashore are important tourist attractions in Chonburi city.
