James Richard O'Shaughnessy, Baron O'Shaughnessy is a British Conservative politician and member of the House of Lords.

He was educated at Claires Court School and Wellington College, both in Berkshire and graduated from the University of Oxford with a degree in Philosophy, Politics and Economics in 1998. A former Downing Street aide, he was Director of Policy to the Prime Minister from May 2010 to October 2011.[1][2]

He was created a life peer on 1 October 2015 taking the title Baron O'Shaughnessy, of Maidenhead in the Royal County of Berkshire.[3]
