The Michinori Holdings, Inc. (株式会社みちのりホールディングス, Kabushiki-gaisha Michinori Hourudhingusu) is a holding company headquartered in Chiyoda, Tokyo and a wholly owned subsidiary of the Industrial Growth Platform, Inc.. This company's purposes are that they rehabilitate companies which have so much liability that they could not handle and act as an administrator of assets. Michinori Holdings manages business, keeps on holding shares of subsidiaries until the company returns to financial stability and viability. By acquiring a lot of shares of deficit companies, now, this company holds and operates five companies which are mainly operating bus department, a ferry company and two railway companies that operates monorail and train respectively as of 2022. Partly routes of the expressway buses which are operated by affiliated companies of Michinori Holdings are named "Michinori Express" (MEX)[2] designed by Yasuyuki Kawanishi who designed WEST EXPRESS GINGA.[1]

The Aizu Bus CO., LTD. (会津乗合自動車株式会社, Aizu noriai jidousha Kabushiki gaisya) is an affiliated company of Michinori Holdings. Tobu Group had had shares of this company until 2011.[3]

Outline

The bus company was established on 21 March 1943.[4] Aizu Bus operates bus routes around Aizu-Wakamatsu in Fukushima Prefecture. And, a lot of bus routes based on Aizu-Tajima Station and Aizukogen-Ozeguchi Station, Aizu-Wakamatsu Station. Service area has many tourist spots, which are Ouchijuku, Tō-no-Hetsuri, Tsuruga Castle, Lake Inawashiro, Mount Bandai, Oze National Park. Its Headquarters are 195 Byakkocho, Aizu Wakamatsu

History

  • On 21 March 1943 the company wa established; Later that year, there were routes transferred to it from due to unification when World War II, including the routes of Kihan Motor, thus determining determined present service area.
  • In December 1953 - Transferred bus routes between Aizu-Tajima Station and Kinugawaonsen Station from Tobu Railway.
  • On 10 July - "Aizu-Wakamatsu - Koriyama - Iwaki Line" was operated as "limited express" with Fukushima Transportation and Joban Kotsu Motor
  • On 9 October 1987 - As Yagan Railway was open to traffic, discontinued bus routes between Aizu-Tajima and Kinugawaonsen.
  • On 20 January 1996, - "Aizu-Wakamatsu - Koriyama - Iwaki Line" was operated as "Expressway bus" and ran via Joban Expressway. On 24 May - Commenced operating Low Emission Bus between Aizu-Tajima Station and Oze National Park.
  • On 2 October 1997 - Commenced operating "Aizu-Wakamatsu - Niigata Line" as "Expressway bus" with Niigata Kotsu.
  • On 1 October 2009 - Aizu Taxi merged into Aizu Bus.
  • On 2 December 2010 - Determined to be support by "Regional Economy Vitalization Corporation of Japan"[5][6][3]
  • On 2 August 2013, "Regional Economy Vitalization Corporation of Japan" which is a share holder transferred shares to Michinori Holdings.[7][8][9] On 30 Augustthe transfer of share was completed, and since then bus company has belongs to Michinori Holdings.

The bus company was established as Kanto Motor LLC in 1923. And, as this company acquired other companies, changed Kanto Motor LLC to Kanto Transportation, Inc. on 8 May 1927. This company requested support for management from Industrial Revitalization Corporattion of Japan and determined to be support from the organization in 2004 due to financial difficulties. And, this company had belonged to Jay Coach which is an affiliated company of Jay Will Partners until 2012,[14] this company has belonged to Michinori Holdings since 2012. What was more, this company acquired Toya Kotsu on 1 October 2018. What is more, this company capitalizes Utsunomiya Light Rail at 11%.

This bus company was established as Toya Railway in 1916. This company commneced operating bus routes in 1928. The firm acquired other bus companies by 1934. This company had belonged to Tobu Railway since 1964 until shares was transferred to Michinori Holdings in 2016.[21] Toya Railway discontinued railway line in 1968. This corporation was renamed to Toya Kotsu in June 1969. In 2018, this company was merged into Kanto Transportation.[22]

The Northern Iwate Transportation (岩手県北自動車株式会社, Iwate kenpoku jidosha Kabushiki-gaisha) has been a bus company within the Michinori Holdings until 2010, was established on 13 October 1943 as Iwate Kenpoku Motor and on 26 April 2009 as Northern Iwate Transportation.

The corporation was established on 13 April 1943 as Iwate Kenpoku Motor, as following consolidation of bus companies in Iwate when World War II. On 1 April 2010, the firm was an affiliated company of Michinori Holdings.[23]

In 2016, Michinori Holdings tried transferring Nambu Bus to this company.[24][25][26][27][28] Business of Nambu Bus was inherit to Northern Iwate Transportation.[29][30] And, this company established Nambu Branch for former Nambu Bus.

This company invested Iwate Galaxy Railway Line.

Ibaraki Kotsu（茨城交通 - Ibaraki Koutsu kabushiki gaisha）is a bus company, which operates a lot of route buses in Ibaraki. In 2009, Ibaraki Kotsu was renewed from former company.

Outline

The service area is based on Mito Station, and spreads the northern and the central of Ibaraki prefecture and the southern of Tochigi Prefecture.[32]

In October 1992, Ibako Kenhoku Bus was established because of rationalizing business, but in February 2010 the company was merged into Ibaraki Kotsu. On 1 June 2010, Ibaraki Auto was merged into Ibaraki Kotsu.

In 2008, Ibaraki Kotsu Minato Line was transferred to Hitachinaka Seaside Railway.

Hitachi Dentetsu Kotsu Service was merged into this company on 1 May 2019, and then Hitachi Dentetsu Taxi was renamed to Dentetsu Taxi.[33]

Nanohana Kotsu which was a tourist bus company has belonged to Michinori Holdings by becoming an affiliated company of Ibaraki Kotsu.[34]

Requested Civil Rehabilitation of Ibaraki Kotsu

Ibaraki Kotsu had too debt, so the company tried to be applied Civil Rehabilitation Act.[35] On 19 November 2008, determined to reconstruct the company. On 27 March 2009, Industrial Growth Platform commenced supporting for the company, and then established IBAKO Co.,Ltd. which inherited from assets of Ibaraki Kotsu.
