Archduke Robert Karl Ludwig Maximilian Michael Maria Anton Franz Ferdinand Joseph Otto Hubert Georg Pius Johannes Marcus d'Aviano of Austria-Este (Schonbrunn, 8 February 1915 - Basel, 7 February 1996), Prince Imperial of Austria, Prince Royal of Hungary, Bohemia and Croatia was born as the second son of Karl I of Austria and Princess Zita. On 16 April 1917 he was created Archduke of Austria-Este by his father, Emperor Karl I of Austria. None of Habsburg's titles are recognised in Austria or in Hungary, where he is referred to as Karl Habsburg or Karl Habsburg-Lothringen, which is his legal name. (See Austrian nobility)

He married Princess Margherita Isabella Maria Vittoria Emanuella Elena Gennara of Savoy-Aosta (b. 7 April 1930, elder daughter of the late Amadeo, 3rd Duke of Aosta on 28 December 1953 in Bourg-en-Bresse, France (civilly) and 29 December 1953 (religious), in Brou, France.
