Split[edit]

Are we sure that we want these two episodes to be combined? Most of the production info only applies to the second episode, they have different ratings, and most of the reception info can be split between the two as well. I also think it is wrong to have the guest cast combined in the infobox like that since there is a pretty clear divide between who is in one and who is in the other. I also noticed some reviewers calling out that each episode has its own story and tone. When I was building each episode in your sandbox (see this revision), I did start out as them being separate. But in my eyes, I couldn't see enough info for 712 to justify it being its own article. Particularly for reviews, of what we have, 2 specifically mentioned 712 (EW and AV Club, as seen in the revision), and I understand you noting that some have said each was its own story and tone, but they were in the context of both hours together. - Favre1fan93 (talk) 14:57, 15 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

FWIW and without taking into consideration anything specific to this article, I'm always in favor of episode articles being about a single episode rather than a combined one. So if there is enough to split, I'll be in favor of that. --Gonnym (talk) 15:08, 15 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I would tend to agree as well, but as I said, just based on the sources I've found and added into the article, they definitely have either leaned heavier on 713, or the finale as a whole. If anyone feels they can make a split happen to justify 712 being an article (that's my main concern), I'd support that. - Favre1fan93 (talk) 16:29, 15 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I haven't been able to spend as much time on this as I had hoped, but I have split the episodes in my sandbox here. I think there is enough for a weaker first article and then a great second article, and I think it makes sense this way since so much of the current content isn't about the first episode at all. I still think it's is beneficial to have the combined article, to avoid the weaker first episode article, in my opinion. Especially as I noted before, that there were only really the AV Club giving a distinct review for the ep, while EW had some specific commentary for the episode within their larger finale review. - Favre1fan93 (talk) 15:43, 11 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]
