The result of the move request was: Moved. Though one can imagine different ways to disambiguate, the evidence here shows that an album by a particular Latvian band isn't so important that it should occupy a base name that is so widely used for other meanings. – The search "Alise was" in Google Books brings up Alise, alternative name of Alesia (city) beseiged by Julius Caesar during his wars in France. The search "Alise is" brings up copious variants of Alice (given name). Of 84,500 hits in English books for "Alise" it seems not a single one refers to the 1984 Latvian album. Relisted. Can I ask an honest question, In ictu oculi? How do you find this stuff? How do you find so many preposterous primary topics? Do people forward them to you? Do you disambiguate links a lot? The 2 problems with that are that neither (1) the Gaulish town conquered by Caesar, nor (2) the American bios called Alise are notably Latvian variants of Alice. In fact judging by the non-Latvian-origin surnames of the Americans it's more likely that Alise is an original American spelling variant, or as in French and Armenian Alix (given name). Oh, so you're saying that because the etymology differs, we shouldn't combine the disambiguation pages--as opposed to, say, Honor (disambiguation) which has both spellings listed? I suppose I can deal with that; I just think a lot of people will type in "Alice" not realizing that what they want is actually spelled with an "s", and vice-versa. Oppose. All the entries on the disambiguation page, created today by the nom, are partial title matches. This is the only article on WP called "Alise." If anything, "Alise" should redirect to Alice, the way Josef redirects to Joseph or should be a standalone article, as in Inese, Andris, and other Latvian name pages, which should be as easy to create as this dab page. With respect Dohn joe have you ever created a name article? There are certain considerations which decide whether a dab or a name article is the best solution. Often dabs/name articles function as both and overlap. Anyway, in this case I don't understand your "Oppose" - since you seem to be saying there are other topics than the Latvian album. And as for needing dabs, unfortunately this is what happens when a trivial product like an album or manga is inserted into a base space of a general name, the r/h search function is disrupted preventing viewing of article search results. Support: The album does not seem exceptionally noteworthy, and various legitimate alternative candidate topics exist – including an alternative spelling of a city name and a common given name. In fact, since the spelling variation is commonly used in Latvia and the album is from a Latvian artist, the album title is just a given name for a person as it would be spelled in Latvia. (It would take a lot for an American artist to get an album considered the primary topic for 'Alice' or 'Susan'.) —BarrelProof (talk) 19:47, 11 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]
