South Korean Article[edit]

Finally some South Korean article begin to talk about what really happened during this enconter: https://www.fmkorea.com/best/3737833383 I would leave however to someone knowing more about the language to finally fix this page. --Lupodimare89 (talk) 18:27, 7 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Added russian Page[edit]

I noticed that in the Russian wiki they added the page including full list of many sources concerning the real encounter between the South Korean vessels with ship "Plastun". The page include at the bottom a mention of the South Korean claim engaging a "North Korean vessel". As i wrote in the past, the entire article should be rewritten and the official South Korean claim put in question. --Lupodimare89 (talk) 08:47, 4 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Alternate version of the encounter?[edit]

While reading this story it baffled me at some point that most of western literature simply report this war-time South Korean claim without much elaboration nor discussion (for example the simple fact that landing troops at Pusan on the very first days of war make no sense at all). Then after some little research on Russian articles online there are clear reports of the Soviet ship "Plastun" on transit during the time, attacked (damaged with casualties) and returning fire against agressors. Personally i think it's highly likely that the "North Korean transport" was infact the very same Soviet ship on transit, and none on the west bothered to check more over the issue, simply taking for truth the South Korean ship's claim. No idea how to change the article however, considering it's basically built on a likely wrong war episode. DYK Hook removed[edit]

While the article is rather good, I'm a little concerned about the sourcing. The source doesn't state that the ship is credited with saving the city: it says "perhaps preventing seizure of the one port that would become vital to the UN forces fighting ashore." That would be my fault, I must have messed up the citations when I created this little article. I will recheck my sources and add an appropriate citation for Bakdusan's battle credit.--$1LENCE D00600D (talk) 05:24, 27 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
