A couple of comments[edit]

This article is coming along quite well in my opinion. I have a couple of minor comments that you might like to consider if you want to take it to a higher rating:

lead could be expanded to summarise the article in a bit more detail (up to four paragraphs);
alt text could be added to the images (instructions can be found at WP:ALT);
Citation # 25 "Smith-Kudrna, Wolfskehl: I think this relates to the External link that you have included. If this is so, I suggest just linking straight to the source by using the {{cite web}} template inside the <ref></ref> tags.

I have assessed the article as a B class article as it meets the criteria in my opinion. If you would like further comments about how it could be improved I'd suggest putting it up for a peer review. This can be done by adding to the list at: WP:MHPR. Depending on how productive that is, your next step would be a GA review, but I'd definately suggest a peer review before that. Good work so far. Title[edit]

Every language translate this battle as "Battle of the Piave" and it made more sense grammatically too, but I was unable to get a book to confirm one way or another. Frangars (talk) 00:43, 29 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Is There An Attribution To The Lead In Painting Of The Crossing Of The Piave?[edit]

CaliforniaScot (talk) 22:26, 4 December 2019 (UTC)This painting doesn't appear to represent the crossing of the Piave river during the battle of the Piave in 1809. A less misleading illustration ought to be found to replace this one. 1. The painting shows Dragoons crossing a river. This must be Grouchy's crossing on the right. Yet the command staff includes Napaloen's Ordnance Officer (dressed in sky blue). That officer was with Eugene at the main crossing point with Prince Eugene. 2. The river is too placid and narrow to be the Piave which was a torrent that day. 3. There is no evidence of combat on the other side of the river, no smoke, nor any infantry as there should be. The dragoons are in column but they should be deployed. 4. There are several mistakes with the uniforms and some representing units not present at this battle.[reply]
