I added my picture of two terns playing to show different angles of the species. This picture was taken at the Breezy Point wildlife sanctuary and migratory stopping-point at the western tip of the Rockaway Peninsula in Queens, New York, USA.--John van v (talk) 01:56, 11 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Is there any practical reason in so much noise?

[edit]

A couple lived on a pond across my office window... they shrieked and chatted all day long, and when one took off to fishing, the other kept on shrieking at double pace. Is there any practical explanation to this apparent "energy waste"?NVO (talk) 16:30, 28 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Changes to remove capitalisation

[edit]

I made some changes so that the article complies with MOS:LIFE. I believe that is necessary if it is to remain a featured article. This is intended to carry out the decision at Wikipedia_talk:Manual_of_Style/Archive_156#Bird_common_name_decapitalisation. In particular, we use sources to determine matters of substance, but matters of style are determined by our own MOS. William Avery (talk) 23:12, 26 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Then please remove the first reference which is being used to demonstrate that the name of the bird is Common Tern, as this now renders the opening sentence contradictory from a citation perspective. The Rambling Man (talk) 08:27, 28 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]
