Untitled[edit]

Hag2, ThsQ, Merry Yellow and Mae Sendikson have all been blocked as sockpuppets of Anne Teedham, this is one of several severely damaged pages. This editor has made allegations of involvement in homicides against one of the subjects of editing, a known witness who's documents have been featured in recently breaking news stories regarding arrest of an organized crime suspect in a triple homicide. http://www.nbclosangeles.com/station/as-seen-on/Suspect_Arrested_in_Triple_Murder__Had_Been_Given_Immunity_Los_Angeles.html Note the Cabazon Arms document at the end of this news story is from the files of Michael Riconosciuto, last document on this page. The Riconosciuto page has also been severely vandalized by these and other sockpuppets. http://www.michaelriconosciuto.com/jpn/ Winksatfriend (talk) 22:30, 1 December 2009 (UTC)winksatfriend[reply]

Discussion after article nominated for PROD as "incoherent"[edit]

Copied here from User talk:PamD

Pam, if you want to delete Earl Brian, go ahead. The point is: Earl Brian is significant enough in U.S. history that there should be a Wikipedia article on him. I do not have the time right now to write one. Deleting that small amount of background material for anyone who links into Earl Brian from Inslaw, Danny Casolaro, the October Surprise conspiracy, or Michael Riconosciuto serves little purpose other than to make a statement. Hag2 (talk) 12:54, 16 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Hag2: I wasn't wanting to make any "statement" about the man as I'd never heard of him before coming across the article as a stub for sorting. The article just seemed a total mess, and inappropriate for an encyclopedia. Can't you find time for even a couple of sentences of coherent text? PamD (talk) 12:57, 16 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks, Pam. Do you think that a short paragraph will be sufficient? I suppose I could find time to summarize a brief background history. Also, why not move this discussion onto the talk header for me while I write a paragraph, or two. I'll have something for you by tomorrow morning. See if you can move this discussion (with a "cut and paste") onto the talk header by then so it doesn't clutter your talk header. How's that for a solution? It shows two things: a willingness to improve Earl Brian, and a desire to open meaningful discussion on a developing article. Hag2 (talk) 13:06, 16 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Done! PamD (talk) 13:12, 16 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Me too. The Introductory paragraphs have been inserted, and I have removed the deletion notice. Hag2 (talk) 16:07, 16 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Looks a perfectly respectable short article now - have removed {{stub}} and added a couple of categories. Thanks. PamD (talk) 16:13, 16 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Image Earl Winfrey Brian, Jr.[edit]

I found an old newspaper image of Earl Brian from 1974 when he ran for the U.S. Senate. I have removed the tag requesting an image, and changed the classification to C-Mid importance.ThsQ (talk) 20:23, 3 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Peter Videnieks[edit]

I created a stub on Peter Videnieks to fill the void which existed. It is now ready for as much additional information as we can find. I look forward to everyone's input.ThsQ (talk) 15:40, 13 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

POV[edit]

He was also falsely convicted with these crimes because he never committed them and was framed. Many scholars also agree that he was not guilty of these crimes. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 72.27.195.180 (talk) 00:30, 5 March 2009 (UTC)

Jamaica, your point of view is readily contradicted by the U.S. judicial process of conviction, appeal, and supreme court affirmation. I know of no "scholarly opinions" anywhere in the world which have been voiced in support of a "government frame up", or false conviction for the fraud charges, or that Earl Brian "never committed them". Whenever a user makes claims such as yours, it is appropriate to cite reference material to support those claims, and to sign your comment with four tildes (~~~~). Welcome to Wikipedia. —Dixie Brown (talk) 14:31, 5 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

A mess of an article[edit]

This article was begun by an editor who was primarily interested in the Inslaw law suit (the editor used a number of sockpuppets and was banned in 2009). Much of the information in the article is unreliable, inaccurate, or lacking in reliable sources. Despite this, the article has remained almost untouched since the editor's departure in 2009. Since Brian had a political career and some involvement with a large corporation (Infotechnology), there is some justification for an article on him, but a thorough cleanup is needed.

I've made a number of deletions already, the largest one being a section that detailed some of the wilder claims about Brian. Some of this may actually be in violation of BLP policies, so I won't copy it here. Brian's tie to the Inslaw suit came through claims by a convicted drug dealer Michael Riconosciuto, who also claimed Brian was part of the October Surprise conspiracy theory; these claims should primarily be dealt with in either the Inslaw or Riconosciuto articles.

A smaller deletion I made related to a law suit the California Medical Association filed against Brian as the Secretary of the Department of Health Care Services. The article falsely presented this as a suit against Brian personally; once I've gotten this straightened out, I'll reinsert it, as it relates to Brian's career as a public official.
