Carrying capacity
[edit]It's not possible that it only carries 84 tons of iron ore. A ton is essentially a cubic meter of water, a cubic meter of iron ore would weigh more than a cubic meter of water, this train is up to 3kms long - there must be tens of thousands of tons if not hundreds of thousands or even millions. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 172.202.252.86 (talk • contribs)
- 84 tons is the amount per car, not for the whole train (edited to make that clearer). It adds up to around 17,000 tons for the whole train. OpenToppedBus - Talk to the driver 14:38, August 15, 2005 (UTC)
Loaded Weight
[edit]84 tonnes is the weight og the iron ore per car.
The empty weight of the car might be 16 tonnes, so that the loaded weight of the car might be 100 tonnes. If there are 210 cars, the weight of the wagons might be 21,000 tonnes plus the weight of the locomotives. ----MountVic127 (talk) 21:18, 30 November 2023 (UTC)
