HS2 Consultation[edit]

Here is a local press report today: http://www.wbtimes.co.uk/news/hs2_consultation_roadshow_comes_to_town_1_817305

No immediately obvious how to include it. But the High Speed Two consultation also needs adding, announced at the beginning of this wwek. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 94.194.151.102 (talk) 19:54, 2 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Proposed services table[edit]

For some reason, the page says that the "Following" London Overground station (on all services) is Whitechapel (as well as being the "Preceding" station on the Watford DC line), but the code says Willesden Junction.

Willesden Junction is correct.

Does anyone know why this is showing up?

This seems like an odd error, it wasn't there before. I'll try to fix it.Likelife (talk) 12:48, 5 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Seems to be fixed now D-Notice (talk) 19:21, 5 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Proposed Services table[edit]

Willesden Junction towards Richmond

North London Line

Acton Central towards Stratford

These two are the wrong way round but I can't find the section in the source. Also, the Line is the West London Line isn't it? Once this has been fixed the two Towards Statford boxes can be merged and the line (As West London Line) should also be able to be.

Also, how likely is it that the Heathrow Express will stop there as it is none stop to Heathrow. And, would Mainline trains stop here and then go any further non-stop than Ealing Browdway (It currently says Slough or Maidenhead).

Abandoned variations of the project[edit]

While alternatives - like moving the HS2 line nearer to Heathrow Airport, having a connection to High Speed 1, and abandoning the HS2 terminus at Euston - are accurate historical proposals, they need to be removed from the main narrative.

"Parliamentary act"[edit]

Surely this phrase can be replaced by a link to the relevant act? --John Maynard Friedman (talk) 17:27, 2 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Tube Station at Old Oak Common?[edit]

Will there be a tube station at Old Oak Common? I have found it being mentioned on the article but it is unsourced. The section states Old Oak Common will be on the Central line between North Acton and East Acton and on the Bakerloo line between Willesden Junction and Kensal Green. After lots of searching online I have found no mention of a tube station at Old Oak. Most of the discussion is about the two separate London Overground Stations at Hythe Lane and Old Oak Common Lane as well as HS2. It seems logical for the area to be served by the tube, however the Wikipedia article is the only place I have found a mention of it. 2.24.174.76 (talk) 07:47, 9 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Well Old Oak Common isn't far from Willesden Junction, where the Bakerloo goes by. Similarly to the south, North Acton and East Acton stations on the Central Line are fairly close. But there are no plans to build a new station there that I'm aware of. There are plans for the Overground to stop, I believe in two separate stations, one at either end of the HS2 station. -mattbuck (Talk) 08:15, 9 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]
2.24.174.76 Old Oak Common is supposed to keep passengers away from areas of over crowding (Euston, Paddington, Central Line), and instead distribute those passengers into central London via the parallel Crossrail, or London Overground. So far, it has been an explicit intent by the planners not to create easy interchange with the Central Line. A similar previously situation occurred in the east end at Shoreditch High Street railway station where the Central Line runs directly underneath the Overground station, but no interchange was created, because it was also predicted to cause additional overcrowding on the Central Line. Thank you for highlighting this, perhaps we should cite + pre-answer this in the article. —Sladen (talk) 09:14, 9 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Planned services[edit]

This section is very detailed but other than the London Overground there's no sources given. Are some based wholly on authors' speculation? Saying they are subject to change is no proper defense for speculation WP:NOR Without sources and dates it's difficult to verify. Is is really on Heathrow express route? --FDent (talk) 16:52, 7 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Agree. See WP:CRYSTAL and WP:OR. If is uncited, feel free to delete it. The onus is on whoever wants to put stuff in this section to support it with citation.--John Maynard Friedman (talk) 21:57, 9 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Zone[edit]

I think it'd be good to add some idea of what zone the new station will be in. The article says it is near Willesden Junction which is zone 2/3. Lena Key (talk) 10:10, 27 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

@Lena Key Thanks for following WP:BRD. Do you know that the new station will be in zone 2/3, and can provide a reference to say so? Your wording, south of zone 2/3 Willesden Junction station didn't make sense, and that information is usually reserved for the infobox, as shown at Willesden Junction's article. Bazza (talk) 10:24, 27 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
No, I don't know which zone it will be in. That's why I wanted to reference the zone of the nearby station so people would have an idea of which zone or zones it might be in and how far from central London it is (for those of us that measure that by zones). Lena Key (talk) 10:35, 27 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@Lena Key OK. That's probably WP:CRYSTAL, then. There's no hurry: once the information becomes available the information could be added. Bazza (talk) 12:31, 27 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
