Citations[edit]

A big pile of "citation required" here... something from the Rail Act itself would be good, given how unreliable CityRail information is. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 61.29.55.106 (talkcontribs) 17:11, May 10, 2007

Cleanup[edit]

Starting major cleanup of article. --Mikecraig 03:22, 25 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I'm not sure we really need an article for Transit Officers. Maybe it could be merged with the RailCorp page.Grizzlybear82 07:42, 16 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Ranks[edit]

I've added rank insignia to the page, but was unable to find a precise title to go with each rank. Anybody knowledgeable enough to add them? DirectEdge (talk) 10:40, 2 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I've added the titles. Not so sure about their accuracy though as there are conflicting sources. I picked to source that was most corroborated by the others, however. Next time I see a Transit, I'll ask them about it. DirectEdge (talk) 02:53, 5 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
An archived page from railcorp gives the following 4 ranks (quote):
there are four levels of Transit Officers, which is also apparent by the difference in their uniform on epaulette of grey shirts. Transit Officer (one stripe), Senior Transit Officer (two stripes), Chief Transit Officer (three stars) and Principal Transit Officer white shirt with crown on epaulette. [1]
Which was published in 2003 so the ranks' names probably changed at one point between then and 2012 as this is when this PDF[2] was published with the insignias' names currently on the page.

Powers[edit]

Recent edits to the powers section have not been well-referenced and have made statements that are not encyclopaedic in nature. I have removed them accordingly. If factual information was incorrectly removed, I apologise and ask that you reinstate it with the requisite citation so that it may be verified. This is a contentious topic within the community and it is therefore doubly imperative that Wikipedia's article on the subject is reliable in that it is verifiable and lacks conjecture and hearsay. Sydney Buses[edit]

Are these the same Transit Police that patrol on Sydney Buses. I have seen them boarding and inspecting tickets on many buses at bus stops in the Sydney CBD, or are they differant? Nath1991 (talk) 11:19, 10 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

  • The Sydney buses, and ferry, security are different. YEPPOON (talk) 01:53, 4 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]
