As a DC tour guide, I think it is appropriate to keep the Tidal Basin on a separate page from West Potomac Park (with appropriate cross references). Basically, people know, use and will search the term Tidal Basin. Very few, outside of the National Park Service, know the label West Potomac Park. GCappy 15:24, 15 April 2007 (UTC)
I don't get why this Mills story is so important as to deserve half the space of the full article. Not having heard the story before, I'm hoping this synopsis is a less interesting version than whatever legend/mystique there is with the version that tour guides give. As it is now, it just sounds like it belongs on a page about Mills himself as it seems to have very little to do with the Tidal Basin. Is it necessary to keep this here? Err.. this is not what i expected to find. I thought a tidal basin was generally an inlet of water from a river or something similar. This article should be renamed as it is confusing with the more common usage. Simply south 20:06, 16 April 2007 (UTC)

Strong Oppose per above and this. In fact I think a separate article should be created on the feature. It is somewhat similar to an estuary or creek. Simplysouth......creating lakes for 5 years 12:55, 25 September 2011 (UTC)
Yes, but we don't preemptively disambiguate. Jenks24 (talk) 20:40, 25 September 2011 (UTC)
Strong Oppose per Simply South. I agree that a separate article is needed. —Diiscool (talk) 14:00, 25 September 2011 (UTC)
Write the article, then revisit the issue (although note User:Station1's comment below). — AjaxSmack 01:03, 29 September 2011 (UTC)
Oppose it should be the meaning of this. Can someone repoint it to the article containing that subject? (I assume that an existing article covers it as a subtopic. If not, a new article should be created). 188.8.131.52 (talk) 04:15, 26 September 2011 (UTC)
Comment by nom. Even if a new article were created (volunteers?), it would be at Tidal basin, not Tidal Basin, and all we'd have to do is add a hatnote to this article per WP:PRECISION. Station1 (talk) 04:40, 26 September 2011 (UTC)
