Arouss Al Ayn[edit]

- Comment: I'm nominating this as a proxy for Mishae. He might have a better hook and I actually chose an unsourced statement for the hook, so that will need to be fixed. Since it's a yellow spotted lizard, is there any way we can get a hook that will relate to Holes (novel)? In addition, since this is an amphibian, aren't its "larvae" called tadpoles? I put larvae in the suggested hook because it is used in the article.

- This animal is a salamander, which is an amphibian and not a lizard, which is a reptile, so I have struck the original hook. The article is in need of a copyedit and contains a number of errors. For example, "The larvae is metamorphosis and feeds on Ambystoma gracile and Hynobius retardatus." is not correct grammatically and is misleading. These Middle East larvae may eat (the larvae of) these other salamanders in the laboratory but not in the wild as one is from North America and the other Japan. Here is an alternative hook. The issues cited by Cwmhiraeth need to be addressed. Apparently, nominator Ryan Vesey has recently commenced a very long wikibreak, so I'll see whether the the creator, Mishae, is interested in pursuing this DYK nomination. BlueMoonset (talk) 21:48, 14 March 2013 (UTC)

- Article - expansion started on 28 February, prior to that it was 295 characters, now 6483 characters of readable prose, so long enough with x 21 expansion; neutral; at least one inline citation to every paragraph; no copy vios detected using earwig/duplication detector; and assessed as C class.
- Hook ALT1 - within length criteria at 98 characters; correctly formatted; correctly cited/supported by ref #7 (p2 of PDF) in 'Larvae' section; and definitely interesting.
- No QPQ required as not self nom; image is PD.

- I changed the image that was originally put forward with the nomination because it showed a salamander surrounded by tadpoles, presumably in a laboratory. I thought it was misleading because, in the wild, the only contact between the female and the tadpoles is at the moment of birth after which she returns to a terrestrial life and offers no parental care. - Well, I apologize that I came late. I do thank you all for correction of my article! Yes, I have issues with grammer since English is not my native language, on the other hand, I write in poor Russian as well because I live in USA and need to speak English more often...
