L.A. Takedown[edit]
- ... that Vincent Hanna, the lead character in both L.A. Takedown and its 1995 remake Heat, was inspired by real-life police officer Chuck Adamson?

This is a newly approved GA and is long enough and nominated in the correct timeframe. The hook fact has an inline citation although the website in question is mainly referring to the film Heat, of which this made-for-television movie is an earlier version with the same lead character. @Daß Wölf, Captain Assassin!, and Cwmhiraeth: I've pulled this from prep 3 because the hook fact appears to be sourced to a blog. Could somebody please explain why the source is acceptable or find a better source? HJ Mitchell | Penny for your thoughts? 01:16, 23 October 2014 (UTC)

- I wouldn't like to express a view as to whether the new source is more reliable than the previous one, but the hook fact seems widely accepted and is unlikely to be controversial. When I come to think of it, the inspiration for something or the reason for doing it is a word-of-mouth sort of thing and is never going to be easy to link to a "reliable" source. - Original timeframe double-checked; long enough; neutral; nominated by 3rd party; passage verified. (It seems like the very best hook would be that the coffee shop conversation itself is alleged to have actually happened, but since neither movies' article actually makes that point, I suppose we can just focus on the character.)
BUT Earwig's tool found 50+% match with this blogspot review of Heat. I'm assuming some things need to be rephrased.— LlywelynII 07:16, 28 November 2014 (UTC)
